My 2008 PS3 Montage - Jun.-10th-2008 20:23:40

I saw another person who made a montage and it was pretty damn good. Thought I give it a crack. Took me about a week to make this.

Thats a first I've heard about someone not liking the length, but I am confused that you don't think it connects with the song, it follows it very closesly and the story moves along quite nice.

The quote at the end and the credits was me just playing around with Vegas, it just made it easier for people to understand that through the tribulations and conflict a "hero" must go through their veiw of the world and its greater parts (heaven) changes.

hence why heaven at the start is, the freedom do as ones pleases (here running and jumping) and a stary night in a peaceful feild, and by the end heaven had become either an idea of sacrificing ones self for the greater good (Vamp and Raiden) or a complete loss of ones innocence, (Illidan standing on a pile of bones)

PLUS, who doesn't like Kara Police by Radio head, I just had to use it

The clips don't correspond to the music in that when the music goes faster or seems more "epic" the clips don't have the same feeling. Like watch 1:59 to 2:08.

0:40..I don't get how jumping is "like heaven." 2:21 to 2:30 just feels like filler. The video doesn't move at the same tempo as the music. And the Mirror Edge clip right after...I dont get how does that work with "and you breathe in, and you breathe out." "and you give in, and you give out" right after doesn't work with the video either. 2:57 to 3:00 is a similar filler clip that just doesn't really do anything. And I didn't get the 117 reference. "never turn your back on it" doesn't correspond to the clip of NG2 or MGS4. 3:19 is just a sloppy cut. 3:36 is another sloppy cut. 3:47 to 4:07 is EXCELLENT. But 4:08 to 4:14 was just lazy, the tempo of the music doesn't match the video again. 4:15 to 4:27 is great too.

It was hard for me to finish the video. It just got boring. Between the 3 platforms, I'm sure you can find MUCH better clips to put that have action that actually correspond to the music at the right time.

Still, if this is your first montage, great job. My first montage was a DISASTER.

Oh, and to nit pick: it's not "A Heroes Fall," it should be "A Hero's Fall."

I don't get how you don't understand the point of her jumping is heaven, it symbolizes her lack of fear and freedom to move as she pleases, her paradise is when he scales the top of buildings.

2:21- 2:30 is filler music, its a guitar rift so i continued the whole theme of this part of the vid, which is the girl, and the dude putting the suit on, he prepares for war, and she's going wherever she's going.

She's running, on top of buildings, a sentence about breathing fits nicely, also if you watch the rest of it, she doesn't kill anyone else, till the song says you give in, she then shoots the dude while it looks like she's falling off a building. So again I don't think your paying attention.

Are you really making comments about 3 seconds? Where people are at a funeral, and the next two parts are at a funeral? The whole point of this section, is idea of loss, that while they all lost people they must endure.

If you've never played Halo you wouldn't get the 117 reference, its the unmarked grave of Master Chief, hence the I will make you a weapon (which he was) and the the whole never turn your back on it. Its pretty freaking clear, they've all lost, yet they can't stop being who they are, e.g. a hero.

3:19 does suck, but thats cause I was messing around with a cut feature.

How is 3:36 a sloppy cut, its a change from one clip to another, there is nothing different about it.

4:08 to 4:14, he's charging at a giant monster with his sword cutting the floor up how doesn't it work?

I think your just incapable of seeing these vids with a little more then face value, maybe I should just a generic song like everyone else.

a lot of the scenes synced very well with the lyrics. great job.
i'd like to give it a try some day.

Thanks, yeah it's technically my second time doing a montage. My first one was an embarrassment to human eyes, so I deleted all traces of it.
