So now I should choose. Do I buy a new 360 now and sell one of them later, or, get a ps3 now and have both consoles later. I will get both eventually, but basically what I am trying to ask, is, do you think there is any reason to own a ps3 RIGHT NOW?

Depends what games you like.

I say dont buy it now.

Many on these forums, will give a reason to buy it now.

My final answer will be: Get your xbox fixed...lol...then buy a ps3.

like i answered you on the PS3 section

why don't you send it in, there's a 3 year warranty for RRoD.

and there's only ONE reason to get a PS3 and that's 4D

i'd like to say two things to you first.
1. you know this will break out into a flame war
2. your on a gaming site, you should have researched both console's thoroughly and come up with your own answer.

all that aside if you haven't been paying for live because you cant afford the cost then you should get a ps3 so you can play some online games like cod4, and rent warhawk play it for a week see if you like it then buy it(you get a headset with the game). Also buy Uncharted, get the Mgs4 80gig(for back compat unless you dont own ps2 games then buy the 40 gig for less) bundle and you'll be set

another thing you would have to consider is your game collection for the 360 is it very large? seems like a waste to just go and buy a console and leave behind all those games unless as you said you'll get a 360 anyway later on. Also the years lineup are you planning on getting 360 exclusives this year or ps3 exclusives how about next? Because if you'd rather be playing God of War 3/killzone 2 than Halo Wars/Bungie new halo game or something in 2009 then you might want to get a ps3 for future titles beyond 2008.

Are you strictly talking about gaming? do you have an HDTV because you might want to watch some blu-rays as well (its a nice extra to have)

i was at one point going to buy a 360 (for gears) but the online play thing (80% reason) and possible failure (20% reason) made me buy a ps3 instead i'm happy with my decision saving 50 bucks a year is needed when your a poor college student

I'm in the same boat as you Alpha, I really don't have a reason to buy a PS3...but I plan to get one when the time comes. Stick with your Xbox.

Get your 360 fixed.
It's got some awesome titles coming out in the coming months.

For the PS3, it really depends on what you want to play.
If you're looking for RPGs, stay far, far away.
If you're looking for online play, be prepared to move with the PS world as they go through one title to the next (there's hardly anyone at Resistance and WH online anymore =(!)

Other than that, it's strictly a personal choice.

And.....send it in to MS!
Why the heck would you buy a new 360 if it RROD (assuming it's still under warranty)?
Send it in, AND buy the PS3.
Twin-win.

Well I would get ps3 now because of LittleBIGplanet. This game will be amazing and it is unlike any other game on any other console.

U have to decided for urself thought, cuz everybody wil give different opinions, follow ur heart, listen to your instinct, think clearly what the PS3 can do and the Xbox360, look at the failure what both console can do, look at what the online can offer you, Forget about the grapahics war between them, i own a PS3, i got no problems so far, about the Xbox, look at some forums and see what people complaining etc Im not going to write about Xbox as i dont own one, all i know is that Xbox get Rrod, but it would be nice to have both console

Well since you already most likely have a collection of 360 games... I'd assume that's what you would want rather than having those games sit around doing nothing while you try and build a new collection of ps3 games.
