How about stories won't raise in heat if they have an active unfixed "bad editing" or "wrong source" report on it. I'm sick of contributors getting unfair heat for their stories just because they heavily edit the title, wait till it hits 50 degrees from a bunch of comments, then fix it to it's more somber original title, but by then it's already guaranteed to at least hit the front page.
Removal of the 8 bubbles = 2 approval points as most fanboys are desperate enough to bubble themselves up anyways and then go and approve articles that otherwise shouldn't be.
A comment section like Kotaku's with collapsible replies in order to remove the spamming of the first comment so that their comment is on the first page rather than on the 3rd.
I would also like the comment loading to happen seamlessly without having to to reload the page just to display it (Ex. viewing a comment made by someone on ignore list, " " by someone with less than your preference of bubbles or uncollapsing the replies).
Remove the glitchiness of the agree/disagree button. I often see the agree's or disagrees going to the wrong people (yeah I know technically it still goes to the right person). I also find it that when I disagree or agree with someone, sometimes I get kicked all the way back up to the top of the comments section.
