As a sister post to what has become one of the largest posts ever (outside the random thread) I just wanted to point out one quick fact: A story only fails for one of two reason, either: 1) Nobody cares. The article is so boring that not even 10 (or less) people will give a few seconds of their lives to approve it. Find a better story, or pay someone to fake interest in your subject, console, game, whatever. 2) An admin fails the story. An admin once failed a story I submitted, I contacted the admin and expressed my view on the matter, the admin then fixed the issue. If your story was wrongfully failed by an admin, take it up with the site admins. If your unhappy, you should be unhappy with the admins. Now; a story DOES NOT FAIL BECAUSE FANBOYS REPORT IT! People always complain "boo hoo, I got to many reports and it failed." That may be, but the reports arn't the reason it failed. A story can have 2,000 reports, and yet manage to sqeeze in 10 little approvals and end up on the main site. In such a scenerio the 10 are likely to complain that they have been treated unfairly, even though they received what they wanted despite the majority. In an hypothetical world one million PS3 fans tried to supress the 360 news into extinction, but failed because despite several million reports, the 360 news articles passed, because 10 brave loyalist gave their approval. Again, if you have a problem, it's probably with an admin, and should be taken up in private with them. Thanks. Edit: It appears I was wrong, and that repots can stop a story from being approved. Thus, I must hang my head in shame and admit the whole basis of this thread has been invalidated. Carry on.
