to the N4G Artwork Contest, where you have the opportunity to show off your artistic flair to all the N4G community. If you have unrivalled talents when it comes to Photoshop, if you are an awesome photographer, or if you are an amazing artist, then post your pieces here under the relevant section (more on that later) and put your skills to the test against the other members of N4G. And before you ask, yes this thread was inspired by RuJoshin's "N4G Video Contest". Credit goes to him for creating such an enjoyable competition and a place to display the N4G member's talents!

Here are the rules and Guidelines:

1. Nothing rude, obscene or offensive can be used.
2. Cannot Bash another system.
3. The deadline is 30th September 2008, where the members of N4G will be able to vote for their favourites thereafter (this post will have a new voting form on the 1st October.)
4. Must provide these details:

Artist: Name
Name of piece : Name
Category: Name
Software/Materials used: Name (may seem unnecessary, but this will give noobs a chance to know where to start.)
Link : Link (or add the [IMG][/IMG] tags to your link to show picture in post.)

5. Must fit into one of these categories:

Your Favourite Video Game
Your Favourite Console
General Gaming
Technology
Vehicles
Modern
Nature
Places
Sport
Inspired By The World Of Entertainment (eg. Films, Music etc.)
Photography
Montage (can be on any subject)
Still Life
Sci-Fi
Fantasy
Miscellaneous

There will be a winner, a 2nd and a 3rd for overall best pieces. If you are unable to classify your work under a correct category, just leave a message along with your artwork and the people here will hopefully help you to classify it.

6. Your work must be completely original OR partially edited, with credit for the original creator. If you are submitting a piece of photography then it must have been taken by you, or you must have edited someone else's picture (with all correct credit provided).

7.
Finally, the winners (and runners up!) will be chosen by a voting process carried out by the N4G members after the 30th September.

And that, folks, is all the guidelines for the competition for now. If I have missed anything, then don't hesitate to inform. Remember guys - Have fun and good luck, I can't wait to see what some of you are capable of!

Good Luck!

Well, you can link to a page, use the small yellow button in the top (when you post) right to directly link and show your art on your post, or you can upload images from your hard drive using the "Click here to upload" section at the bottom of the posting area (and clicking the 'Embed in post' box)

Hope that clears up your question!

I would love to, but I have too much work right now....    I'm a graphic artist and it would be nice.    I will try though.

I did a rendering of an office I drew in MicroStation....its a program used for drafting, I don't know if it classifies as art though.

Whoooop, you have plenty of time (until the 31st August )

If you get the chance, make sure you submit something. You sound like you know your stuff.

EDIT: Kevers, get it posted up and we'll see what we can do!

Yes, we can put it in the Miscellaneous section if need be, post it.

grrrrrrr

mod gone delete happy?

I'll forgive, here it is again

Category: Misc
Program used: MicroStation
Artist: Kevers

I did this in microstation, a drafting software. This is a screen shot of a 3D office I drew from scratch, all the object had to be drawn and have material, lights and reflections attached. I wouldn't call it art, but its kinda cool. The actual 3D model looks alot sharper.

Hey....  I got bored and started to do something, but I thought that there were going to be designs for every section and I made one for Favorite console, instead of making one about MY favorite console.

I'm going to post it anyways...

:)

I just got my wacom tablet, so I was thinking of entering some concept art. Though I've yet to learn any good photoshop techniques.

But that is some good stuff you got there Whoooop, I've always been wondering how to do those abstract effects.

Thanks mate

Well... while I know how to draw, my strong point isn't creating from scratch the abstract or any effects on photoshop.  I use mostly custom brushes and shapes, plus stock photos etc and then use my creativity to combine them all in a decent way depending on your view or style.

When you work for an advertisment agency, you have to keep some things in mind, like color and art design balance which is very important... If it's for you?? like a hobby, you can do what ever you want as long as you like it.

It takes time to learn photoshop as a program, but after you learn the basics..... you can dabble with some brushes and some effects.

I do create some things from scratch, but the way I do it right now is acceptable and time efficient for my work.   You can create simple things from scratch using shapes too.

I feel more motivated to create a piece. Thanks a lot for the advice.

Whoa guys, impressed already!  Whoooop, Kevers...and even Jon!

Keep up the effort guys, it is truely appreciated

Whoooop, if you've got the time (you've certainly got the skills!) see if you can make a better/alternative banner which may be used after July 10th

EDIT: Oh and, Tetsuryu, can't wait to see what you produce!

Oh thanks, I'm planning on entering the primary contest. I suck at making banners or anything that focuses on photos or text lol. I'll put my heart and soul into my upcoming work.

BTW is there a limit to the amount of submissions one can make?

P.S. I think this thread should be pinned.

Nope, no limits. The more you enter, the better your chances
My banner will be the one to be used.

P.S. I second that!
