NBA 2k9 Improvements A NBA Development League - minor addition that would make this game slightly better would be for the user to be able to scout prospects from the D-League as potential roster "fillers". There are many players in the D-League, and there are many players who have been recalled from the D-League to fill in roster spots. Do they suck? Maybe? But that's not the point. It's the experience of it all. Technicals and Flagrants - What about technicals? What if after certain "questionable" calls, the camera would cut to a close up of the player, and he could either argue the call, or just accept it (decided by the user). The benefits of arguing a call would be something like: pumping up the crowd for motivation, or refs making future calls in your favor. Negatives would be: getting T'd up for excessive arguing, and eventually being ejected. Doubtful that this will ever make way to the game, but this would be a great addition if so. If possible NBA 2k series need add hard fouls with a high rise and high reward system possible to injuried player or slow down a player scoring but at a rise getting a flagrant foul or a flagrant 2 which is ejection. More commitment from the Developers - Can’t say we knew where Visual Concepts went the last couple of months. There were a considerable amount of problems with the game that needed to be addressed, and recently VC catered to those who were patient enough to wait for the patch that fixed a few problems in the game, and a roster update, that updated rosters to a certain day. But, overall, customers should be properly and conveniently updated with the upcoming releases, and fixes, etc. Giving out fixed dates for releases, is a good strategy, so why not use it? It would show that they are working toward releasing it at that specific time, revealing that they are committed to following their promised date, and as a result, less confusion and speculation for customers. Spectator Mode (Online) - It's time we see the induction of a spectator mode that has been speculated by many users. It would be very beneficial for tournaments such as the NBA 2K8 All-Star Challenge, that is currently in progress. Spectator mode could grant access to thousands of users who would have the ability to watch other player’s performances and games as well as grant tourney administrator’s the ability to enforce and ensure that games are being played in a fairly manner and not in an exploited extravaganza. The feedback system and other additions from the transition from NBA 2K5 to NBA 2K6 were great additions to the online system and should be continued to be supported by 2KSports staff and the VC development team. Team Introductions - Team introductions have been left out from the last few campaigns, but could it be time to bring it back? We’ve caught a few users on the 2KSports forums who are interested, and so, what is there to not want? We have a video embedded below that showcases a second of the player introduction of Steve Nash in a Maverick uniform( 1:12 - 1:00) in NBA 2k2, but if that was re-inducted into.NBA 2K9 along with better presentation, we don’t see what could go wrong. 2KSports/VC have nothing to lose, to say it at the least. There is nothing wrong with going back to your roots and taking things and ideas that at one time made the franchise very successful and highly rated. Believe it or not, NBA 2K-NBA 2K3 were some pretty solid titles. Enhancing the Differences in Player Styles -Differences in each player's style of play will make this game more realistic. Many signature dunks and signature shots have been included, but 2K8 still lacks the very things that make players who they are. The transition from 2K7 and 2K8 brought a lot of additions including dunking styles, and a wide variety of other styles, but there are many styles that could still be beneficial if we are to see the series become more realistic in time.Exclusive player movements example Lebron shoulder charge to the rim,Kobe post moves, and his triple theat moves etc. In-Depth Association Coverage - The Association Mode needs a small number of things to take it over the top, as an elite franchise mode to any other sports game. We refer to this as Enhancing the Association with better commentary (in-game, pre-game, post-game, halftime), including weekly highlights, similar to past NFL 2Ks, such as NFL 2K4 which had daily/weekly coverage of games and their results. Better coverage of milestones and records, rumors, news, updates, reporters and out of game analysis. Enhanced Finals -The NBA Finals is the World Series of Baseball, the SuperBowl of Football. It's the biggest event in Basketball, so why not portray its eliteness in the game? We didn't even notice anything new or different besides the NBA Finals logo on the floor, than a regular game. We made a game tying dunk with 21 seconds left and the CPU made a buzzer beater shot and there was no player celebration or anything of that nature. Where's the championship spirit or championship mentality and emotion by the fans, players or coaching staff? Where's the confetti, balloons and sexy cheerleaders? There needs to be some type of happiness or exciting feeling for the sake of this game. The most highest level in the game and its being carried out as if it is an exhibition match. Presentation - Presentation partially fell off the map, after the loss of ESPN, and so its been difficult to replace what once was. But at the same time, there are a lot of opportunities and possibilities out there, the potentiality that 2K could land TNT for example. The way they’ve been doing things is very original, and sophisticated, but there is no need to lack in terms of presentation any longer. 2K may not be able to portray actual ESPN sports analysts, etc, but there is no problem with attempting to do what ESPN had done. Bring back actual presentations from games such as NFL 2K4/2k5 and College Hoops 2K7, including post-game interviews, weekly reports, pre-game thoughts and reports, etc. These features help establish an actual “feel” for the game, and as always, we can expect presentation to help blend events and competitions such as the All-Star weekend into actual Association events, making them easily followable by users. Presentation just makes the game that much sweeter! Commentary could be more in-depth, halftime shows could me a bit longer, and discussion and comments could pertain to other things then the teams participating (Around the League discussions). If possible add TNT at the half with Kenny Enrie and Charles talk about the game. Player Emotion/Reactions - Gilbert Arenas hit the game winning 3 pointer, while Kobe Bryant hit the impossible 3 pointer from the corner with .2 seconds left on the clock. What do these things have in common? Little player reaction. Sure, there may be times where the player will run and do a 'chest bump' with another player. There's many signature style reactions that people have turned a blind eye to, and they're very common in the game. But there are typical and common ones, we have yet to see, such as......leaving shooting arm in the air after the shot, a real man pounding on his chest (like a Gorilla with both arms, lol, we've seen this reaction in the NBA many times.
