So I don't know if many NHL fans exist on this site, but I think there should be a dedicated thread on one of the most improtant days during the NHL off season.

Feel free to post rumors (with sources?) for upcoming signings, trades, firings, demotions, whatever!

And yes, we're all quite aware that this year's market does not even hold a candle to last year's incredible group, but alas, it is what it is.

I live in Scotland so I don't really get the chance to hear much about the NHL, but I love the sport!
I have a local team called "Fife Flyers", of which i see when I get the chance.

How are Buffalo Sabres doing these days?

so my penguins lost ryan malone to the lightning as well as gary roberts, we resigned evgeni malkin to a ballpark figure of 5 yrs 8.5mill/yr and we are losing Hossa for sure, unless he decides he rather win a cup than get an extra mill or two a year

Big Pens fan here (don't worry, I've been a fan since I can remember and I grew up in Pittsburgh, I'm not one of those Sidney Crosby/good year bandwagoners, which actually kind of annoy me).

So far from what I've seen, the biggest signing I've seen is Washington has apparently signed Theodore.

As far as rumors go, some that I have seen is that some team has offered Sundin 10 mil a year, the Pens have made some kind of offer to Jagr, I've also heard the Pens have made an offer to both Naslund and Rolston, and I have heard nothing concrete on the Hossa front other than there are a buttload of teams making him offers with the big money coming from the Blackhawks, Cannucks and Bruins with other offers from Pittsburgh, Detroit, and pretty much everyone else.

Sorry if most of that is Pens centric, but I'm kinda following their moves more than anyone else being as they are my team.

They were a good, young team 2 years ago...but they lost alot of their major player to free agency.

They're not what they used to be.

Mainly because he would be a good line mate for Crosby or Malkin if he doesn't let his ego get in the way.  It was apparently only a 1 or 2 year deal that was mainly incentives (I've read 1 yr 5 mil that could be up to 7.5 based on incentives).

ESPN is slow with hockey, if you want information the quickest hit up tsn.ca and look at their free agent tracker.

TB just signed Adam Hall from the Pens to reported 3 yr 1.8 mil contract.

Melrose, I know you liked the Pens last year and all, but do you want any more ex-pens before the fa period is over.

    Aww, not so good.

The reason why I started liking them is because of the NHL 2000 (or was it 2002?) demo
