I've already started buying things to upgrade my current PC. I'm now looking to buy a few more things for it and have listed them below. I have a few questions involving some of the items and also some I can't seem to find.

First off let me start with a cooling system. I need something that will keep this puppy from catching my house on fire. Does anyone know where I can find a good cooling system for this PC or is this something I'm going to need custom made for it?

This seems a little expensive for a processor. Should I go with a 3.0 quad core to save a few bucks?
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 Yorkfield 3.2GHz 12MB L2 Cache LGA 775 136W Quad-Core Processor - OEM
$1,430.00

ASUS P5E3 PREMIUM/WIFI-AP @n LGA 775 DDR3 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard
$369.99

Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1800 (PC3 14400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
$349.99

Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1800 (PC3 14400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
$349.99

I'm on the fence with these. Should I splurge on them or should I go with the 8800GTX series? From what I'm reading I'm not going to notice much of a difference. Can I even do this considering that this would be equivalent to 6 video cards? Whould the Motherboard I picked out even fit 3 of these?
PNY XLR8 VCG98GX2XPB GeForce 9800 GX2 1GB (512MB per GPU) 512-bit (256-bit per GPU) GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Is this going to be enough watts? Or do I need to go bigger?
Tuniq Ensemble ATX12V / EPS12V 1200W Power Supply 100 - 240 V CB, CE, FCC, TUV, cUL
$289.99

Should I just Raid 4, 150's or will this be ok?

Also, if anyone can find me better prices on any of this can you please hit me up with a PM? All prices here are from newegg.com.

How big is your budget ?

I would also reccomend the Q6600 quad core processor from Intel which you can overclock from the normal 2.4GHz to 3.00GHz.

Q6600 2.4GHz
2x2GB ram
Geforce 8800GTS 512mb
Gigabyte motherboard P35 I think are the best atm for a good price
hard drive - 500GB - 750GB would do, get two hard drives and boot the OS of your choice off one and store stuff on the other.
Case - you can choose
Cooling- Not sure

Heres what I have chosen for you from newegg and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

When I was looking at the 3.2 quad it was because I want to overclock it to as close to 4.0 as I can get.  I own a 2.4 duo right now so going to 2.4 quad wouldn't seem that much of an upgrade to me. I don't want to go with no less than 3.0 before overclocking.

I have about $4000 to $5000 that I can spend on this. The parts I picked out come out to $5200 without the cooling system.

I didn't list everything because I already have everything else I need for the system like the case, cd drives, OS. I'm basically stripping the computer I build a year ago and redoing it. I could even skip out on the sound card because I have a nice soundblaster one. I might even be able to cut the cost a little on Harddrives. I have a 7200RPM 250 gig one and a 750 external. I also already own 1, 8800GTS. But I'll probably give this one away.

I just really don't want to skimp out on the Processor/Motherboard/RAM/and Video Cards.

I really need to know if it's even possible to run 3 8900GT2's. Each one of them is basically 2, 8800GTS's so if I did 3 8900's that would be like running 6 video cards. If I can't do this then I'm definitely going with 3 8800GTX's. They have gone down in price and can get these for a decent price.

This brings me to the issue of Powersupply. How big am I going to need running 3 gig quad core, 3 video cards and the fact that every external thing I have like the Keyboard, Mouse, Speedpad, Even the Mousepad draws extra power for all the blue lighting.

Chances are you'll probably want to look at water cooling especially since it seems you have a little money to put into this, water cooling is the best option

For better prices I just check out Newegg, Tigerdirect, Zipzoomfly, and Mwave. For fancy lights and such I go to XPCgear, xoxide, and FrozenCPU

I definitely figured I would need water cooling but how does it work? Does it attach something to each of my video cards along with the processor? Also do I need a specific one for the processor I have picked out? Am I going to need this custom made for the equipment and stats I'll be running or is there one out there that will suit my needs? If there is a premade one (prefer something that glows blue) (it's the whole black and blue scheme I have going) I need some help finding it. I really have been looking but being new to liquid cooling systems I have no idea what exactly I'm looking for. I don't want to order the wrong one.

Well I just found out I can't use that motherboard with Nvidia Graphics Cards =( Back to the drawing board.

Having 2 x 150GB WD Raptor should be good enough for your main system as it's only important if you're planning on installing your OS or Games onto since the seek time is lower.

However, having the 1TB HD is better in my opinion then 4 x 150GB Raptor HD since it's better to have more space and higher cache. I recommend you to look into the 32mb cache though if you're planning to go all out with the 1TB drive.

Make sure you're aware that the Window's 32-Bit OS's will not be able to recognize more than ~3GB of memory, so you should be looking to a 64-Bit OS if you're upgrading to 4GB+. I don't think you'll see much of a difference in speed with the DDR3 memory modules so I would recommend getting the 2GB DDR2 modules for a better price and more memory available also. You'll probably look to having more than just 4GB's if you're going for a high end gaming system.

The water cooling is definetely needed. It's normally attached to the CPU with water tubes that lead to a fan cooling system.
