I need to buy a router ASAP. There's so many out there & idk where to start. I'm looking to spend between 70-120 dollars on it. I don't spend all day downloading files and the time I spend gaming online is mild. Which router should buy? Here's my speed test...

^^^ Crappy I know but I live in the middle of jack s**t nowhere  so AT&T only offers me one service plan. I ask and ppl say it doesn't look like I'm lagging so it can't be that bad. Hopefully there's someone here who purchased a router recently after doing some heavy research.

I highly recommend that bad boy.  In that past 5 months my router has never crashed, and i'm usually constantly running it at near full capacity *which is a lot*.  It's very secure and very user friendly with its menus.  I haven't even upgraded the firmware since I bought it, so who knows how good it would run now.

I have that same router and the thing gives me so much problems with the PS3. If I have UPnP on the router and the PS3 tries to access the router for the internet, the router will just reset itself..... I have to mess with soooo many settings just to get the thing to work. Did you have to play with it a little bit to get the PS3 to play friendly with it?

I have the same router and similar problmes, my PS3 is a wired connection, my PC wireless. When I sign into my PS3 I interrupt the connection to my PC and vise versa. Also I get disconnected from the PSN whenever I start a game, but that could just be a PS3 thing.

Buy a Belkin router, I bought it for around 30-40 dollars and I also use it for wireless gaming and yes my internet connection isn't that fast either. I think belkin will be perfect for you.

Edit:
This is what my router looks like and it is very easy to set up.

This is the router that I have and I haven't had any problems with it at all.  As far as setup it doesn't get any easier than this.  My PS3 and 360 are both hardwired but PS3 is set to wireless if necessary; however if you do either wireless you won't experience any lag.  There is a higher quality router that I will be picking up soon, but as far a security and data xfer between router and modem nothing comes between a Linksys.

That's the word.

Thats exactly what I'm talking about. Whenever you try to log on, the PS3 causes the router to shut off. I read that the PS3 tries to overload the router with information and the router reacts by just shutting off..... Weird bug and it seems that the problem will never get fixed.....

you people are weird, i have no troubles with it at all, the GL part means you can replace the firmware, i have 3 of them, 2 Gs and 1 GL, plus a d-link DL-524 and you can tell, the Gs and GL are the most stable routers i have ever seen, wireless and wired

If you use the mini version of DD-WRT, you can flash the firmware on a regular WRT54G. I use one and it's awesome. That ****ty Linksys firmware is the problem.

lol, you haven't seen mine, I have to keep it in a cabinet. I have my 2 routers, ethernet cables, TV cables and a little box for my cable (don't know what it does) all taped together.

I think my cable goes directly into my regular router, then the ethernet cable that will typicaly go to the PC goes inot my wireless router, then I have a ethernet cable comming out of that one and going to my PS3 and my PC is wireless. Its a ****ty mess. lol
