Figured I would start this thread for any bug related to the new site so they can be in one spot. If that's not cool with you guys, then just delete and move on (after fixing my problem first, though!)

I have attached a picture of how the forums look for me using FireFox. The big N4G logo up top looks nice but them it is followed by a big blue box with the seperate sections with the curent section I'm on highlighted in gray (or grey for you Euro's). The forum text (whether typing or reading) is contained in the left 4/5 of the screen leaving an awkward white bar on the right.

Not a big deal, just passing it on.

Sean

P.S.- We couldn't get any good smiley's/emoticons with this update? :)

Thanks for the topic Raines... saves one of us from creating it.

We do understand that there will still be bugs. It would be best to wait a few hours to a day or so while everything gets ironed out before submitting formal complaint issues.
However, post your issues here if you'd like, and we'll look into it.

@ Raines. Refresh your cookies/cache and restart Firefox. I had the same issue until I did that.

How do you add alternative sources, under the old system, you click on the news, there is a button, saying add alternative sources, however the new update, it's not there anymore.

Word on the centering of the forum but I still have the big blue box up top after restaring and clearing it all out.

I'll wait a few days (no more!!!) before I bitch about it again. You know me, I love complaining about things that I get for free.

Every time i leave the site and come back i have to log in again. My cookies are on so im not sure if this is a bug or its my fault. I didn't have this problem before the site got updated tho.

*edit* Seems to be fixed

I've noticed that sometimes the "Blogs" tap is does not line up with the rest of the tabs, and that on some of my forum comments, I'm not able to go back to edit them.

1. Looks like there is a bug in the pending section. It happened two times since the update that the name of the poster was shown in the pending area.
I'm just guessing but is is possible that my stories were at the same position in the pending section before I refreshed, then they got approved, and for some reason it shows the submitter's name of the new stories.

The first time it was Beren's name that was shown.

2. The Edit button is missing from the stories in the pending section. Hope it is a bug, and not a feature. :)

Yeah, we can't edit the pending news as we submit. In order to edit, we must go through "my sub" tab, then edit through there...

Do we need 10 alternative sources? And do we need alternative sources for stories that are over 3 days old? There should be a limit of 5 or something and when a day is passed you should not be able to submit an alternative source. Either that or you shouldn't be given 10 points.

Edit: I just noticed the edit story function has been added. This site rocks!

Am I supposed to see who is submitting a story in pending? Sometimes I don't see my own name there and sometimes I see others names.

Edit: Also, in the pending section: If you report on a story and write a long link in the report, your name and everyone elses name who report on that story will not show. The pending section is too "thin".

The main problem I have had within the site was...

The Login Function ~
It took quite some time for me to be able to access these forums logged in. The only way I was able to overcome that was if I checked the "Remember" box and I really don't want to do that as I have roomies in the household that use my pc. If I were not to check that box then the site redirects me to the main page. In the forums I appear as "Guest" still even after entering my information.

Preferred Members?
~ (Question)
I have noticed this at the bottom of a profile page and thought that it had something to do with sending invites out. So is there a specific invite page located anywhere on the site? It's the only way I am able to invite friends of mine due to the laziness they have even though they will most likely not register in the long run. It was just a question and you don't have to answer it if you do not feel the need to.

Not sure if bug but noticed that if i post on an comment and come back 4 hours later my comment has moved...like it will be the 2nd comment when i post it then it will be the 15th after about 4 hours or so...

Even the links to N4G stories are too long:

A bug thats been around since the site started and not just since the update.

If you click send pm on a persons profile it loads the pm in the top portion of the profile thus making it impossible to send the pm, I think the link or code should open a new window or tab when sending a pm.

After approving a story the name of the submitter is not shown as it used to be with the old site.

The long links problem in the reports got fixed, but the HTML tags are no longer working. The only problem is that this was the only way to add linebreaks.
