PS360WII Very nice. Yeah Doom Resurrection is awesome isn't it interesting note on Star Defense the camera doesn't hinder it though right? The controls for Resurrection are hard to get used to, that being my only problem with the game. Even though I'm now on the third level, I'm still finding it hard to aim as accurately as I'd like. Sometimes I sweep along my enemies nicely and stylishly while landing plenty of headshots, while at other times I'm stuck being grabbed constantly by two enemies or being shot at and I'm unable to get off many shots at all without losing a chunk of life. But the graphics are incredible, I love the idea of on-rails shooters on the iPhone and the extras thrown in are both sizeable and enjoyable. It's easily worth it at full price. As for Star Defense, it makes use of multitouch for when you want to spin the camera around. Normally dragging on the screen obviously spins the planet itself, but thanks to multitouch you can spin the camera as well. The only downsides of the game so far are the limited towers (if only being able to use a set amount per map wasn't bad enough, there are only five tower types and they are all only upgradeable twice) and limited enemy types, obviously lacking in versatility and creativity. But given how it's been updated once already with a bunch of added extras, I'm sure they'll add more towers and whatnot at a later date. But, as of right now, I'd sooner suggest 7 Cities over Star Defense if I were asked for the better 59p/$1 Tower Defense game. It might not look as pretty, but it outshines Star Defense in the areas that matter - namely map design, enemy variety and tower variety. What can I say? I love towers that level up and increase their stats on their own but can gain additional firepower by spending points on them and even additional abilities and effects by using the yellow gems they attain after defeating set numbers of foes.

Just a note, the guys behind Knights Onrush have just released a demo for a game they might make if people like it enough. It's called Quest of Knights Onrush and it's a sidescrolling slash-'em-up. It's nothing special yet, but it has a few nice touches like environmental hazards (so there's a bit of platforming) as well as levelling up/skill unlockers. So yeah, I like what it's showing us. It'll do until Streets of Rage 3 comes on the App Store, anyway. :P

Maybe even level based things rather than just how long you can travel through. Hmm Streets of Rage 3 I still have for my Genesis but that isn't implying I wouldn't want it on my phone heh

Yeah they are fun. The only problem with CJS is it has a time based system on it. You have to pay a guy you own 50k a week in real time. There was a time when I just didn't play it for a week or so and haven't made a payment the next time you start up your game you'll be killed and need to start over.

PS360WII It does look pretty cool. Speaking of line drawing games... Harbor Master has a new update coming out Monsters at a dock! The harbor that has the monster removes the cargo 4 times as fast. When the monster pops up you have to tap it multiple times to bring it back down to the merky waters. hmm didn't seem to insert the image so now I put it as an attachment The new map update for Harbor Master is out now

Gyah! I need some suggestions for a new game or two! I already have Crystal Defenders, Knights Onrush, Star Defense, Mecho Wars, Zenonia, Wolfenstein RPG, MiniGore, Doom Resurrection, Geared, Pocket God, Topple 2, Flight Control, Radial 50 and Resident Evil 4... What else should I grab?

Well lets see here. Wolfenstein 3D for you early fps nostalgia, Galcon is fun for taking over an enemy, Ameture Surgeon if you like Trauma Center, Hero of Sparta for your GOW fix, Let's Golf which is like Hot Shots Golf, Gangstar if you want a gta clone, Ragdoll Blast for your physic based puzzles, Space Invaders Infinity Gene that has some new twists to the old school style, Monkey Island SE if you don't have it already, Conquest if you like Risk, Sway for some touch platforming, Castle of Magic is not to bad of a platformer either.

I picked up Civ Rev and Ragdoll Blaster in the end. Only played the former for about five minutes, but got to level 20 or something of the latter pretty quickly. IThen went back to playing RE4, 'cause it's just awesome.

Catastrophe The controls suck at Civ Rev... All the basic Civ skills transfer - are you running into trouble in a specific area? Yeah... All of them! Nah, I'm doing fine. Things are just taking longer to get rolling than I'm used to. I'll give it a proper go later. Resident Evil 4 is all I've been playing for a while now... Tonnes of playability. Probably the best game on the iPhone in terms of both graphics and gameplay.

I know Layton enjoyed Zenonia, but did anyone else give it a bash? Either way, Gamevil will be submitting their next game sometime next week and TouchArcade has an early hands-on of it. It's called Hybrid: Eternal Whisper and is said to be a side-scrolling beat-'em-up with a deep skill upgrade system and other RPG elements like equipment and consumable items. It also looks like you get graded on how well you fare on each level, possibly offering rare loot or extra cash for doing particularly well. I'm quite looking forward to this.

Catastrophe I played an earlier build of Zenonia and enjoyed it but could never really adjust to the controls. I've played it for about six hours now and I still can't adjust to the controls. It's a major problem, really, emulating a D-Pad or Analogue Stick on a touchscreen like that. It'll never be accurate enough. Capcom have done a smashing job with RE4, but it's annoying as hell in Zenonia when your character goes in completely the wrong direction as you're trying to get away from monsters so you can heal yourself. I'm not a major fan of not being able to use the touchscreen for menus, either. Conserving the feel is all fine and dandy, but I would've preferred a larger menu with touch-compatibility for convenience. It ould appear that they've gotten a bit wiser with their next game, since the menu is pretty big and seems to rely on touchscreen controls.
