Pain
/la sigh.. i luv internet assumptions.
No I'v Played it. I do understand it. You seem to not understand that If Blizzard wants to they will port it.
PC games = meh so Not a hard thing to change.
toodles~ I'll leave you with that.
I agree with Satanas.
The potions system has been changed, so that may or may not be an issue.
And you're right - it wouldn't be hard to change the controls. And if Blizzard wants to, they will port the game.
That doesn't stop the fact that it would suck on consoles. You click on the enemies you want to attack, you click on the place you want to move, you click on all the options OR you use the hotkeys - need I remind you that a controller doesn't have enough buttons?
The way I envision it working is:
Left analogue to move.
X/A to attack in the direction you hold down the stick.
O/B to use secondary attack.
Shoulder button to pick up items - you press it and then select the items by scrolling through them with analogue/d-pad.
Select to open inventory - navigate with analogue/d-pad
Potions/hotkeys custom-mapped to d-pad
But then, all the other options would have to be accessed via a pause menu. There are quite a few, at least in Diablo 2. Skill trees, hireling equipment, stats etc.
Then you have the crucial issue - what about area effect spells, or teleport, or whirlwind, or any skill you cast in a different place to where you are? On PC, you can just right-click where you want to cast. On a console, you would NEED the right analogue stick to act as a cursor, which you point at enemies and press circle.
Personally, I don't think the core hack 'n' slash gameplay would be as satisfying, but that's personal preference.
