Released PSN Games

1942: Joint Strike $9.99

1942: Joint Strike takes inspiration and influence from the 194X series of World War II-themed vertical shooters. The art, sound, and gameplay of the new game takes cues from the original 194X games, but stands out as its own unique entry. Gameplay resembles the classic 2D style that gamers expect, but the game utilizes a full 3D engine. Set in a World War II-themed locale, stages, vehicles, and weapons have the look and feel of WWII with some stylistic differences. The world in which 1942 takes place is not our own and the events that transpire are not historically accurate, nor are they intended to be. This is an alternate world where history and technology developed along their own paths. As a result, players jump into the cockpits of WWII-era aircraft to take on huge waves of incoming enemy fire, dodging explosions and missiles while challenging huge bosses at the end of each stage. New co-op "Joint Strike attacks" combine the powers of two aircrafts into a devastating barrage.

You can switch between five different character classes literally at the drop of a hat: the fearless Warrior, the steadfast Archer, the mystical Mage, the tireless Worker, and the deadly Priest. In order to triumph, players must combine their skills and work together. Flock **TBA 2008**

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a ... lovable animal-herding UFO! In Flock, players take control of an alien UFO that is tasked with herding animals to its mothership through a variety of interactive levels. Players will have to overcome the stubbornness of the temperamental beasts (this may require the use of fear, or amorous yearnings, etc.), as well as a series of environmental puzzles that must be solved using Flock’s physics-based gameplay. By finding or making a passable route, players can herd the animals safely toward the ship. Solving the puzzles within the suggested time limit yields exciting rewards. But players can also take their time to find more hidden bonuses. Flock uses a sophisticated physics engine that drives the challenging puzzle elements of the game. Whether it’s using the Tractor beam to move obstacles out of the way, or the Depressor beam to stamp out crop circles to guide your herds, being an extraterrestrial has never been this addictive. Friends can also join in through co-op play. And when all the levels have been completed, users can make their own with the level editor that comes with the game.

I liked how PSN started off in regards to games. Rather than get lots of mediocre ones, they appointed a few studios to make a few awesome ones. In my opinion, PSN already had a far better library of downloadable games than Live did, Live just has a lot more in number.

Really?

Mabey if we lived in the US, but surly you remember of unexplicable long waits for Everyday Shooter, Pain, Echochrome to name a few.

The first year was not good, months went by with only a handfull of demos, more content would really have been welcomed then, even if it wasn't AAA

I was never really waiting for anything, so maybe I'm a little jaded in that regard :D

Wow, awesome thread! Go Le-mo!!

Very informative and very useful for people who aren't too sure on some of these games (Sony need to release more demo's for them).

Some additions, which I think would help some people even more is perhaps add the GBP (£) and Euro (€) prices for the games. Also, maybe include you own thoughts on the game and whether you'd recommend it.

It better not be, it's £4.99 in the UK, if it's the same in $$ then the UK is just getting milked yet again.

OK this is bad, very, very, very bad!

Yet another reason to add to my ever growing list of why I hate SCEE (It's a long list)

£5 & $5 for the same game, it's not a huge sum, but it means we are almost paying  double!

I know what you mean, it's an absolute scandal. It's like walking into a shop, seeing a game at £25, but you're not allowed to buy it there. You only have permission to use other shops, where the price is £50. It is ridiculous.
