ORIGINAL: Solid_Snake lets get serious; the main reason why MS took the lead (and has held on in NA) is because you can buy a 360 for less money than a PS3. They have good games on the 360, so the cheaper price will draw more people to it than the PS3. It's the same reason why the Wii has done so well. It has some good games as well, and is a lot cheaper than the PS3. All this talk about fanboyism and everything will go away if the PS3 was cheaper. If it dropped down to the price of the 360, or have a model cheaper than most 360's, then many of them will shut up, and go buy a PS3. Eventually, Sony will cut the prices, because everything always gets cut. We'll se how it affects the gaming world. There are still millions of PS2 owners who have not made the jump, and logically, it would make sense that they are waiting for a cheaper PS3 Let's be honest here...if new game releases were frozen and both consoles had the exact same games they do now...the PS3 would still outsell the 360. I think there's little doubt which console is better, but the PS3 has Sony's name behind it and the experience...among other things. For the 360 I think 40 million is an honest goal to aim for...the longer they're in the market the more respectable they become. Even though we have no idea, IF Microsoft continues to produce better games it's inevitable that it one day wins the console war. I'm guessing that won't be for a few generations though.
