Alright, some people seem to think that sharing games on psn is illegal. Hell i thought it was illegal at some point but the truth is, its not.

Sony locks the games they don't want shared like Warhawk, GT5 e.t.c. and it appears after the 2.4 update, those locks have been removed so you can now game share warhawk and GT5. Before if you tried to play those games on a different account than the one that purchased the game it wouldn't let you but now you can.

Yes i know it FEELS dirty but its not. In fact Sony encourages you to share games

http://www.wired.com/gaming/gamingreviews/news/2006/10/71982

That was just before PS3 launched. Facts in bold

Sony also plans to offer a wide variety of small downloadable games through a digital delivery service called PlayStation Store. At the Gamers' Day event, there were long lines in front of the playable version of flOw, a slow-paced action title with mellow music and surreal graphics, based on a popular free web game.
Many of the event's attendees noticed that Sony's other downloadable offerings seemed designed to mimic the games on Microsoft's service. Sony's shooter, Blast Factor, bore more than a passing resemblance to Geometry Wars, the best-selling title on Xbox Live. (Senseless PS3 hating)

Sony announced that players who download games from PlayStation's online shop can share them on up to five other PS3 machines.
If a player logs into his PlayStation 3 account on a friend's system, he can download any game he has already purchased. "You can send that content to four other friends for that initial investment," said Tretton. "We want to get the game in as many hands as possible."
"It's not about generating profits at each and every interaction with the consumer," he said. "I think that really offsets the argument that says, 'Wow, that's a really pricey system.'

Yea so game sharing isn't illegal and this thread should not be locked

Great find Sonarus. Some of my friends own more than one PS3 and it made them so mad that they couldn't share the game that they already paid for. Even some of my friends that owned just one couldn't play between two profiles on the same console.

this will probably be a dumb question, but i've never downloaded someone elses game before, and i've never had a friend download one of my games.  Plus, we just got trophies.  If i let my friend download Super Star Dust HD from my profile to his PS3, is it just a download, or will it be on his system with my profile.  Will his trophies and other things appear in my profile rather than his?  I don't want to cheat him out of what he gets.

You would log into your PSN on a new user account on his PS3, download the game, then leave your account there. He would pick his old user account, sign into PSN, and have access to SSHD with his own savefile, stats, etc. Just make sure he leaves an account on there with your PSN ID. He never needs to use it, it just needs to sit there. I tried to delete my friends' account and I couldn't use the COD maps, so I redid it, and left a user account with his PSN on it, and now any account on my PS3 can use those maps.

This is kind of old news guys.  I've bought dozens and dozens of PS3 games since launch annd can't tell you how many games I've bought on the PSN.  I've shared so many games with friends that the PSN now tells me or my friends that I have to deactivate a PS3 (the game that it's on) in order to share or play the game on another console at all.

We were so baffled when we first got this message that we called Sony when it first occured and not even they knew exactly what it meant...

Heads up, while Warhawk can now be shared and the other person can log in with their own credentials for their own stats, the 24 hour limit is still in place so you'll have to wait if you want to play afterwards.

I must say nice find indeed,

Infact one of the main reasons I never bought WarHawk, was because sony would not let other names on the same PS3 play the game, it was something that I always felt was a really bad move on their part...

when I buy something I don't want restrictions on it that would not be on the Physical media.... Now I understand the problem of trying to make sure the content is not pirated, but worst then it getting pirated is pissing off the consumer with restrictions... There was a much smarter way to do it, Like locking it to the PS3.

But they choose to make it lock to one user, which was really stupid because a lot of people have different accounts on their PS3's for family brothers, etc...

So for that reason I never bought Warhawk and I never will. They can keep that game.

I now buy no games online.... all my games will be physical media only. That way I can sell them when I'm done and I can lend it to a friend If I want.

I hate restrictions on something I paid for... -just makes no sense.

****Well I haven't tried it with 2.40 but I'll take your word for it, if you say it is working and you can now share with others on your PS3 that's good, because that is really needed.****
