Hello everyone, I'm sorry if my thread seems kind of ignorant, but I don't know much about video games. I have had 2 360s and they have both broken down and I'm tired of the stress I have to go through with 360. I was wondering if the playstation 3 played regular DVDs as well as blue ray. I'm not sure, but I'm looking into getting one because I can't deal with red rings anymore. Any help will be appreciated. I'm sorry if I sound like a n00b.

Yeah, the PS3 does play DVDs along with Blu-ray discs.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the 360, it is still a great system. Yes the ps3 does play regular DVDs as well, I am sure you will have a blast!

Ur lucky, an 80gb ps3 for 399.99..and its gonna be worth every penny... BTW welcome to N4G.

No I know how she feels. she took N4G for granted and didn't appreciate it until she lost it. That's what happened to my PS3

Yes the 360 Hardware is a cow patty for sure.... I liked the games on it but the system hardware is a failure I was hopeing for a redesign at this years E3 but no luck... I Had gone through 2 myself and will never buy a launch system from MS ever again ... I will wait to see if there next system can run longer than 7 months before crapping out....

Yes for games... and may the next system rock....

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I really think Microsoft has to put more effort into their next system. What happened to everyone with the red rings was nonsense and you will never see something like that in a Sony product.
