Playstation 3 Console - (45nm) Cell Broadband Engine - Apr.-30th-2008 15:10:43

Status: offline 		I've scoured the web tirelessly, but can not find any solid info. regarding a release date for PS3 console with 45nm process Cell Broadband Engine. Does anyone have any inside info? Will it be released with the MGS4 80GB PS3 console in June?

The 45nm version, soon to be released, is supposedly 40% more energy efficient and runs cooler than the current 65nm version… much like the current 65nm was to the original 90nm version. I've tried calling my local Sony Store as well as a customer service line, but they had no idea what I was talking about and thought I meant HDD size. Oy!

Status: online 		Why do you care. Is saving power really that important to you. I have never heard of a ps3 overheating due to 90nm chips or anything like that. The Xbox360 has turned every gamer paranoid now.

Including me!

I just don't trust this current next-gen technology as much as I'd like to. Got 2 120mm fans blowing on 360 and PS3 whenever switched on.

Now that's paranoid!!!

Very helpful, thanks for taking the time to respond with your opinion about me doing research before blowing $500+ on a console, accessories, and games!  By the way, other than what they look like, I don't know a thing about xbox, and even if i did I wouldn't flame it.  I bet you have tons of close friends.

Status: online 		I apologize if i was a little harsh on you. My point is, it makes little sense to wait for smaller chips because the ps3 does not over heat like that. If you want to wait for anything, i would wait for a price drop
