Greeting Podcast crew! Love the show, keep em coming.

1. Do any of you listen to TDar (TalkRadar)? If so do you like it and would you ever consider an N4G/TDar duo episode?

2. What are your thoughts on the occasional user blog being posted on the main-site? I think it could give great exposure to a truly awesome part of N4G.

Thanks!

What would the world be like if Video Games never existed?

Now that were in a recession should retail gaming dropped the price of all games to a $40 limit that includes new games?

What can u expect from Mass Effect 2 when it comes out?

Hey guys hows it going?  Zero I saw this article on N4G about a pair of headphones that deliver 5.1 surround sound.  Would you be interested in picking something like that up?  And for the rest of the crew what other kind of gaming gadgetry, equipment, attachment, enhancer, etc would you like to see come out (or is out and you want)?  I would like to try those glasses/headset that make gaming feel virtual.

RE: Q The Crew 2009 Edition - Thursday, January 15, 2009 3:54 PM
Am I a Fanboy?

Hi guys,

Love the show - listen religiously each week - keep up the great work.

I'll admit I'm biased towards the Playstation 3 having owned the PS1 & PS2. Previous to that my gaming experience have been on the Atari 2600, Atari 400 and N64. Goldeneye on the N64 got me back into gaming and apart from that and Perfect Dark, I found nothing else on the 64 that I liked. I love playing shooters. I've never been a Microsoft fan (from before the original xbox hit store shelves). I have nothing against Nintendo but with only SD resolution and no quality titles that interest me, that rules out the Wii.

You guys say it's all about the games not the consoles. I've played a lot of multi-platform shooters: Call of Duty 3, 4 & W@W, Battlefield: Bad Company, Rainbow 6: Vegas 1 & 2, Ghost Recon: Advance Warfighter 2, Army of 2, Medal of Honor: Airborne, as well as a lot of exclusives MGS4, Resistance 1 & 2, SOCOM (looking forward to Killzone 2 with abated breath) - enjoyed them all. The only game out for the 360 that I really want to play is Ace Combat 6 (which was a PS franchise and should have been ported to the PS3 by now - thanks for the ****ing sellout Namco-Bandai). I've played Halo on my Mac but never finished the game.

As a working stiff and a father of a 18 month old I don't have the luxury of gaming for hours on end... though I do try to play each evening for an hour or so after the little guy goes to bed.

Sony shouldn't have to justify their prices or their numbers, does it really matter that they are not the market leader at the moment (i guess it's all about the bottom line and bragging rights). I'd like to see the PS3 do well and thrive over time. I have no regrets getting my 60 GB PS3 - I have no issues with what I paid, no issues with the PSN (or the fact that it's free), or reliability, or the 17 games I own. I love blu-ray movies. You get what you pay for. You don't hear people say "Mercedes should lower their price because they don't sell as many cars as Ford."

It's sad that there is a console "war of words" going on. People that accuse one another of being fanboys are fanboys themselves. Like you guys say we need competition - everyone benefits in the end. After I did my research the PS3 was my choice - I've played the Wii and the 360 and I wouldn't touch either with a 10 foot pole. Because I earn an income I guess the cost of a PS3 was not a big issue for me opposed to a student or a welfare recipient. I don't believe that the arguments of PSN vs. xbox Live and the quality or quantity of games for either platform are valid points any longer. I don't know where the RROD issue stands today with the 360 - I had heard it was a 30-35% failure rate, but of the people, that I know that have owned a 360, it's more like 80-85%. How a consumer product with such a crappy reliability history is still on the market is beyond me. The only thing on the 360 that I love are the R2/L2 contoured triggers, apart from that nada. I also use Apple products and love Rush (the band). :D So am I a fanboy because I don't play all 3 consoles or see redeeming qualities in the competition? If so, then damn it, so be it... I'm a fanboy and proud of it! ;-)

RE: Q The Crew 2009 Edition - Tuesday, January 20, 2009 10:03 PM
hey guys love the show.

I had two questions.

1.) This question is in the future but when the next generation of consoles comes out what do you think the companies will do as far as their online parts of their consoles. Will they transfer over to the new consoles or will they ditch and refresh (like Xbox to Xbox 360)
2.) If you owned Sony what would be the first three things that you would do to help the PS3 sell over the Xbox 360.

Thanks a lot

Yo, its ya boi Kay-Z~!  Been a while since I've commented or sent in a question for you guys.

For the comment:  Podcast is still kicking ass, I look forward to it every week to get me through my library job.  A video ver. would be nice to see how you guys really react (just listening to the audio is enough to make me get kicked out of the library from LOL-ing too hard).

For the question (or questions):  I played Prince of Persia and have to say I was thoroughly disappointed.  I liked it from the beginning, but as I played through it more, it became a chore.  Do you guys think the next PoP will bring more to the table than just "press button...wait for wallrun animation....press another button" gameplay?

Question 2:  The Next Gen Console games are starting to burn through my wallet at 60 bucks a game.  Kahn, since you seem to be the master of the handhelds (Gambus Kahn Dual Screen Scholar XD), what are a few good games I should pick up for my DS?

Anyway, keep up the good work and keep those podcast coming!!!

P.S.  Glad you guys(Kahn and Wombat) finally picked up Valkariya Chronicles, I've just got my copy for my B-Day and I'm enjoying the hell out of it.  ZERO!!! YOU NEED TO GET ON THIS GAME, as you say its "Teh Awesome-sauce"

no devs no cool characters reviewers whats up with that i mean in fighting games especially im like ok even if they wanted to stereo type a dude from the hood who fights street wise and is a current reasonably intelligent black person or a series that has a prominent black hero

That’s a very good question. I think that seeing more strong black characters in video games is something that is coming. I mean there was the black guy in Crackdown, Jade from Beyond Good and Evil, Spawn from you know....Spawn, and Vin Diesel from Riddick and The Wheelman is mixed so we will claim him, also the black cop in True Crime: NYC Marcus Reed, and last but not least Carl Johnson from GTA: San Andreas I only put CJ on here because I know someone will point him out, but even though he was the main character he was a gang banger and that is what we are trying to see less of. The problem is most of the time when a game has a black guy in it they are used as background characters. I mean if you really think about it, you will remember that just about every game has a black dude in it, he just isn’t memorable. The ones that really feature them normally has the stereotypical black dude that plays basketball (Sean from Street Fighter 3), plays football (Cole from Gears of War) or just a plain thug who can use a gun (50 cent... from the 50 cent games) I mean, I would love to see a black lead in a game like Alan Wake, or Heavy Rain. I think what it is, is because we are not represented on the development teams, we aren’t being represented in the games. When you look at those different developers behind the scenes looks you hardly ever see any black dudes. And if you do... they sweeping up the floor. (joking). But in all seriousness I think that in the coming years we will begin to see more and more minorities in video games. With all these different courses, and online schools that have become available and this next generation of youth being brought up on video games a lot of them will much to their parents dismay not become a doctor or a lawyer, but instead make video games. I don’t know, I’m sure I will catch some heat, but that’s just my opinion. I have more to say on this, but I will leave it for when I am at the podcast again. I do want you guys to read my answer to his question tho.

I forgot about this guy, again he is a supporting guy but he looks alright. I need to see more on him before I pass judgement.

RE: Q The Crew 2009 Edition - Monday, January 26, 2009 5:01 PM
Hello independent podcast crew, how ya all doing?

1)Do you believe that Capcom USA will solve the licensing issues so that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes  could come to the USA and EUROPE?
2)When  will PSN cards gonna come to EUROPE?
3)What game would you consider THE ULTIMATE FIGHTING  GAME?
4)What a not released game would you consider ''A NEXT GEN'' game?
5)Do you have any pets? What names do they have?
6.1If you could change your birth name this instant, what dream name would you wish to have?
6.2What video game character's name would you wish to have?
7)If you would want to travel to some country and live there for the rest of your life, which country would you choose?Japan,Afghanistan (lol),Australia,Germany,France,Spain,China,Russia,...
8)How wide are your tv's?How many inch do they have?
9)If they are alive, how old are your parents?

10)For the past 3 years there were only few good anime TV series.Sure we get one or two masterpieces like Code Geass and Death Note, but mainly all other 80% are all perverted comedy crap, and I am talking about shows from Japan wich didn't even aired jet in the US.
Few months ago you said that you stopped watching anime because there wasn't any good anime released for a very long time.Did you saw these excellent anime like Wolf's Rain,Full Metal Panic,
Ergo Proxy,Samurai X(Rurouni Kenshin):Trust and Betrayal,SamuraiX:Reflection,RahXephon,Princess Mononoke,
Howl's Moving Castle,Neon Genesis Evangelion,5 centimeters per second,Gungrave,Ghost in the Shell, Gankutsuou:The Count of Monte Cristo,Xam'd,Le Chevalier D'Eon,Great Teacher Onizuka,Samurai 7,Fullmetal Alchemist,Samurai Champloo,Gantz,Black Lagoon,Natsume:The Book of Friends,Berserk,Casshern Sins.....Do you dislike theese anime's,or you just aren't willing to check them out?
It's safe to say that half of the anime fans/watchers download anime and watch it subtitled, myself included. And they don't see any problem with that. Some amount of americans BUY the dvd's when they are released, which is two years later after original Japanese release date or sometimes even later.I would love to own a lot of anime, but I don't want to pay for dying format so I'm waiting for the blu ray releases,  sadly THAT, may take a while ...    In Japan anime dvd's are released the same time as blu ray dvd's,but how many years people will have to wait before it'll be possible to buy them from all country's?So overall, what's your perspective on good anime and bad anime?Do you still watch if you hear it's good?Name few of them that you enjoyed.

Thanks for answering and best of luck. ; )

hey guys,

I got rock band 2 for Christmas and I really want to by Guitar hero Metallica because I love Metallica. I was wondering if you guys know if the pre-order bonus of a guitar hero WT drum foot pedal would work on a rock band two PS3 drum set?

Re:Q The Crew 2009 Edition - Wednesday, January 28, 2009 12:14 PM
 Hi all.
Been listening a while, and thought i should post a question.
As most people are aware, stores like GAME and Gamestation (in the UK), and Gamestop (in the US) often bleat on about how they make very little money from people buying new games, and that the majority of their tills are filled by trading used games. With this in mind, I have a 2 part question....
1) If that truly is the case, then why have we been seeing lately these store cutting the prices of games (sometimes by 50%) just a week or 2 after release? Surely Sony, MS & Nintendo aren't selling the games to them at such a discount?
2) With the current economic crisis taking hold (apparently, we are in a recession!!!), and more and more gamers trading in games, will we see the developers trying harder to prevent the influx of game trading by adding content that can only be downloaded once (such as the flashback map pack in GoW 2, or the FIFA 09 league updates). Will they try to come up with more insidious plans to stop us from trading??

Thank you for your time, and have a good 'un!!!

WHATS HAPPENING CREW!
Best Show/Podcast ever. Havn't missed a Show in Months, you guys are the Best and make me laugh all the time.
RESPECT!

-What is a Holy Toledo?
-Now I know how you guys feel about Resistance 2. I feel the same, the story isn't the best. However just like some of you I forced myself to play on. Just want to let you guys know, the ending it epic. It really is one of those WTF moments. Now I'm so excited to find out what happens next in the 3rd Resistance. It was totally worth forcing myself to the ending.

You all went through your top 10 picks of last year a few weeks ago, what do you all anticipate to be your top 3 games of this year?
