Would you watching the greatest story(Story X) you every heard or seen thereby ruining your experience with all other stories on all other media(gaming, movies, and music)? Or would you shun the never watch story x and go by the rest of you life in enjoyment of the other media and stories?

Let say for illustration that this movie made you cry on the third viewing. That this movie was so beautiful that it made you melancholy for a week.

Why would anyone want to run around being all melancholy, people who are melancholy make me want to drive automobiles into them.

Generally if there is a movie, storyline or what have that draws that much of an emotional response i usually don't watch it very much or again. The main reason for this is that it's so physically draining that i pysch myself out before watching it and convince myself that whatever state i'm in that I'm not prepared to commit myself to the story again.

Sorry not a real answer, just a personal reference to a simuliar situation.

What if it's so beautiful that it hurts. It cracks you like a nut in a vice.

I am not talking about look at me, I'm dark and gloomy. I am talking about something so beautiful you are sad all over. There is nothing loss but previous perspectives of beauty.
I am talking about something which you can't have more then two thoughts of it cross your mind before you heart gives way.

I believed the same thing at one time. Beauty makes you happy. Even tears of joy are tears of joy. I am talking about something further.

''Melancholic''.Such a thing would probably never happen.
It can only be absolute. But even then, when you have witnessed it,what good is there
looking at other things.Even an absolute can be better.I know,it is an antinomy,
but it makes sense. It is choice, decision. We are indeed lucky not to be able to reach
perfection. What actually creates such emotions is how close it was to perfection.
We will never reach it,but there is always this fear, some sort of bliss, animated by your
sub-conscious indicating that we have reached the point of no return.Fortunately, there is one little thing called
memory.....or the loss of it.....
Watch Elephant Man.And read Keats Jon.He has a ton of stuff to say on Melancholy.Happiness is inextricably linked to
melancholy. They are mother and child. My oh my,who will even bother reading this.It doesn't even make any sense.

Ode to Melancholy?
I am an Austrian Economist. I deal in the non-ludic world. Things are that are because they are the best at the purpose they are designed for. A Dodge ram is a worst vehicle because it doesn't handle like a Porch. I do not think about abstract models of perfection.(But I think theoretical abstraction)

Melanjolly(all rights reserved 2008) not to the manifestation of new data, I know all the themes of the art way before a saw it.
I was hemorrhaging emotion.

Keats' work?

I never read Keat's work, I can't speak on his ideas. And I really am an Austrian economist, who else would know what Praxeology and ludic and non-ludic ideas.
