@OP: All consoles are prone to overheating issues. It's a technology problem, not just an Xbox problem. Even computers, Ipods, Video Recorders, etc... are prone to overheating. It's all in how the hardware was designed, and how well the owner takes care of his equipment. @ Jack & Pirate: I hear ya both on the "gaming just isn't what it used to be." I myself have lost interest in gaming due in part to many reasons both inside and outside the realm of gaming itself. I think it started with Halo 3 tbh... I was expecting some great revolutionary game, and it really was a big letdown. It's not because of the hype, because I tried to stay away from that, I honestly felt like the game lacked the greatness that Halo 1 and even Halo 2 had. After my Xbox broke, I've been using my time more productively rather than wasting away at games. Not to mention, the quality and caliber of games is not as great as it used to be either. I remember when games had depth, feeling, emotion, character and involvement... it's tough to find that today.
