Ok i been the victim of 1 RROD and 1 E74, and when these problem occur they were at the worst time for me.

First the RROD, it was the last day of classes before spring break.  and the teacher was really not in the mood to work to i tell him the day before if its cool i bring halo 3 and some remotes and we can play on the class projector online.  he was cool with it, so next day i go take my xbox and all my classmates are ready to own but when turn on the xbox 360 to put in halo RROD stirkes me.  and was it a low blow.  i was more WTF since i played some COD4 before classes and worked great and all of a sudden 20mins later i get hit by it. in the end classes go by boring with out my 360 and also 3 weeks of my life with no 360 but i got another and im good now.

the second E74 was a bitch to me,  Bioschock just came out and i was really into it, i played the demo and loved it and now i wanted to play the game.  So i go to Circuit city and get a copy and drive home with anxiety.  When i put the game in it load the the menu screen and i start to play.  Well during the opening intro my screen gets black dotted grid across and i thought it was my tv so i turn it off and on nothing, then maybe the HD cables mess up or somethin from my xbox so i turn off the console and reconnect the wires.  Well then i turn on the xbox and 1 red light!!!  im more WTF is that i get an error message sayin "hardware failure contact xbox support" and REALLY i just bought bioshock and i dint even finish the dam plane crash scene and now this happens.  In the end i wait 4 weeks for my xbox to return and i started to play bioshock 1 month after i bought it bummer to me

so anyone got any cool stories to tell or more like heartbreaking post it here

Damn, I got RRoD once and just bought a PS3, it's been smooth sailing since. (No this is not a fanboy comment, I'm just saying I didn't feel like sending my 360 to Germany for X amount of weeks)

well i have only one story about the RROD. It was actually quite pecuiliar.  Chilling at my cousins house, decide to play some halo3 (the only game he has), and boom 3 red lights.  I was like holy ****, i actually saw it in person.  He doesnt know what the **** RROD is (he's not a nerd), so he turns it off and back on, and bingo bango, its running like nothing happened.  I was actually surprised at this, and we played some games ( it was double xp weekend with melee or something) but we couldnt get into any maps, and all the other regular maps were taking forever to get into, the only maps that would load up were some big team battles, it was actually pretty weired cuz all the other times i have played, it was quite a hassle. We had to exit and change playlists a couple of times before we actually got to playing.

It happened last fall..but it couldn't have come at a better time. I got my 360 back right before Mass Effect and the Fall update. I didn't have to pay a cent and only had to talk to customer serive for 5 minutes. lol I was one of the lucky ones

...but holy sh!t anyone see the main page? Too Human is actually a decent game

This has nothing to do with me or a 360 failure, just my friend.

My friend was talking to me on vent and said he was going to go afk to play some Rock Band on 360. He comes back 5 minutes later saying he put the disc in the tray, closed it, and that the 360 didn't register that there was a disc there. He opened the tray and *GASP* no game!? He was all like "WTF my 360 ate my game!"

He goes online and figures out how to open the case,  and then opens it up. He fiddles around for like half an hour and realizes that the disc is nowhere to be found. I go "Hey, are you SURE it didn't just fall out before you closed it, since your 360 is standing vertically?"

"... be right back... "

Turns out I was right and he took apart his 360 for no reason, and wasn't sure were some screws and **** went. I laughed so hard at him that day.

He did put it back together and all, but it was still the dumbest thing I've seen him do (he's not an idiot, just jumped to this conclusion ha ha).

The same exact thing happened to a friend he was about to play a game in our season and he turned it on and got the lights. He then turned it off now it works fine. Im hoping it doesn't actually happen when he gets 09 though

LMAO! That comment came out of nowehere.

I had two RROD's before I decided to sell my unit (20GB).
First one hit me after my 360 started to make some unusual grinding sounds, so I was like "WTF!?". I ejected my Gears disc (loved that game) from the tray, turned it off and turned it back on without the disc and then RROD. I realized I was hit with a double whammy after looking underneath my gears disc, circle patterns.

I called customer service, which was about a 10 minute wait (gotta love the heavy accents lol). So I send mine's in and took almost a month to get it back.

I was on a roll in PGR3 before the second one hit me (only had it for 2 weeks after it was returned to me). For me that was last draw.
I sent it in once again for repairs, and when I got it back, I sold it to one of my co-workers shortly afterwards.

I used the cash to buy a Wii and some games, and boy was that a huge mistake.

The most recent time my 360 broke, it got the RROD an hour before Halo 3 arrived in the mail.

You're lucky.  I was pissed when I had mine.  But it was expected since I had a launch model.
