Status: online 		So far i suspect racer of the yr nominees will be

Burnout Paradise: Since this is the only one i have actually played, as of now this game has the best shot. The open world and the interface for friend invites and all that is pretty impressive. Despite coming out in January, this will probably have the best shot

Grid: I doubt this one is going anywhere. I see this game getting old quick

Motorstorm 2: The interactivity, the 4 player split screen and hopefully elimination of crazy load times should definitely put this game in a firm spot to at the very least secure a nomination. Visuals aren't up to what i am happy with but i believe it will get there. From a pure fun perspective, i don't think any of these games can touch motorstorm.

Midnight Club: Total mystery


Any other major racing games i missed? Sorry GT5 prologue doesn't cut it for obvious reasons. Without a doubt though 2009 belongs to GT5.

Status: offline 		I quite enjoyed Bunout and with the future DLC coming it will stay fresh. I am tempted to boycott grid because they got rid of the Aussie races but i think i eventually will give in. Codemasters make good racing games even if their other genres are terribad.

Mario kart wii was pretty samey so i dont think that has a shot and baha/motorstorm dont interest me in the slightest.

so err  burnout ftw?

During Take Two Interactive's financial conference call with investors, company execs stated that Midnight Club: Los Angeles, the upcoming and latest game in the urban racing game series from its Rockstar Games brand, had been delayed. Originally scheduled for release this spring, the game has now been delayed until Take Two's fiscal fourth quarter which begins on Aug. 1 and ends on Oct. 31. The delay was due in part to wanting to keep the game out of the shadow of the release of Rockstar's flagship product, Grand Theft Auto IV which begins on April 29.


i think september or october

Take Two push it back cause of grid and GT5P so they drop  midnight club after grid and before motorstorm

wow, you are talking about the same guys who made dIRT and TOCA right? by all indications this game will be one of the hottest racers of the year, but I guess we'll just try the demo that comes out this week on XBL and PSN to see how it is this is the racer i'm looking forward to right now and I think its the one to watch for, hopefully I wont be disappointed!

Status: online 		Don't forget about Mario Kart. As much as I hate it, I can already see a lot of Nintendo fanboy sites giving thye ROTY award to it.

But back to the main topic, I have to go with Burnout Paradise. MC: LA is a total mystery and that's not a good sign for a game that's not too far away. GRID looks incredible but nothing new. And finally, MotorStorm 2 felt really disappointing to me (And I'm a worshipper of the original).

So yeah, Burnout Paradise fro me.

Status: offline 		yeah, im not ruling out GRID... i dont expect alot but i think it does have potential to be great, at least graphically, i dont know how well the options will be..... i.e. career, online and whatnot

Should be out within the next 2 months.

Anyway my vote goes to Burnout Paradise, Criterion has truly crafted one of the most fun open world environments I've ever played in. The Cagney and Eastwood packs are bringing everything I wanted from the original experience (night time races ftw) and will give the game some longevity. They also deserve kudos for how seamless the online component melds with the rest of the game, 3 taps to the right on the Dpad and you're online without displacing your current position? Genius.

Yea i know. Never played TOCA but the last dirt was hardly amazing. Tell me your impressions on this one especially compared to the other candidates

@kwicksandz, wipeout being a psn release probably won't get it a nomination.

@Burnout supporters. I agree 100%. The fact that these games are coming end of the yr and burnout came out since January says incredible things about Criterion. I am still not ruling MS2 and Grid out though. From demo, i will know how good grid is. MS2 visuals will improve but with the dense jungle vegetation in each race, the water interractivity and all that nonsense, Evolution could still come out with an incredibly fun game.

If this was developed by SONY developer use Home make racing events and tournaments win big prizes like 50 to 500 dollar PS Store Cash
If home was use make a club way other players can meet and talk trash be going to the game
Online Racing Team/Clan
create a team logo
Clan rankings Clan ranks in Drag and other type racing matches
Clan Garage be able to use other clan mates cars if with permission
