My reasons were for MGS4 and the blu-ray player all the other games and content came as a big plus for me, Heavy Rain, GOW3, K2, Resisstance and R2.

True, but the PS3 was launched in black unlike the other two consoles. I couldn't wait.

Well. I was going to get a 360 then MGS4 was exclusive and i had just finished playing GOW1 and loved it. Was also really loving Shadow of The Collosus at that time. Despite all this i would have probagly gotten a 360 anyway since PS3 was sold out for a bit but then that xmas i got a 360 from my aunt

so i got to play gears of war. Then sometime in march 07 my friend calls me and he is like he just went to gamestop and they have ps3's

So called my gamestop and they did. So walked home with it then played resistance coop with a friend

Wel I dont own 1 atm as the games on it aint as good as xbox :P and the console is just 2 expensive the only reason i might get 1 is for blueray and GT5

Its downright sexy and plus I'm more of a fan of the game franchises Sony has. Plus its a great feeling not being worried wether or not its going to overheat and burn the console.....

The only reason ATM I can think of is upcoming Little Big Planet. That game works well with PSN and the open user created content one can spread. For the rest I think XBL is doing the best job with online gaming.

But buying a console for one game (please PS3 fans don't start an endless list with upcoming games for the coming 3 years, its my view on the current games), I find the price of 400 Euro to steep. Plus, I want my consoles in white only this gen. I own two white 360's, a PSP fat white, a PSP slim (2000) white. Only in Japan on sale for now, Sony get your act together start getting those white PS3's to Europe/USA also.

They are improving though, now with Dual Shock 3 controller so you don't have to fork out another 60 Euro when you just bought a PS3 to get rumble. Now they need to include a HD video cable instead of composite last gen connection, and a headset so you can talk online right out of the box.

The LBP pack 80GB for 399 Euro could get me onboard, IF it will come in white also and a straight promise all that delayed stuff will be here this fall. And no, Resistance isn't a reason for me to buy, neither is a GT5P demo for 40 Euro, nor any other game I've seen on the PS3 untill now. Although Uncharted is an extra allright game on top of LBP

loyal Sony whore since the PS1 days....... wasn't going to change when I was contemplating my next-gen purchase... am never going to change now

Sony are just too good and innovative...... when the PS3 was having problems... I knew Sony would turn their sh!t around.... and lookie- they did

and it's only getting started.. the best is definitely yet to come

I'll give you one HUGE reason, the 360 is pretty much done. Until the next XBOX comes out, there isn't much coming out for the brand. If you need proof just look at their non-existent '09 lineup. I know, I know, but b4 you start jumping down my throat and start saying "MS wont announce anything this early" ask yourself if you really believe that. Its never been their policy b4.

But what do they really have coming out in 09? DOA3? Forza3? Killer Instinct? Halo Wars? APB? Do you really think these games stand a chance against Killzone2, Infamous, Heavy Rain, God of War 3, Wardevil, The Agency, GT5, FF13(coming out roughly a year earlier on PS3), FFVersus, Kingdom Hearts, White Knight Story, Tekken 6, R* exclusive, MAG, Team Ico Project, etc?

Reasons to buy a ps3???? Well that's easy, The great bluray player at a cheap price. That's good enough. The games are still lacking. Needs more killer apps.

But the bluray player is thee reason to own one. Especially since you can download an hd movie with ease and watch it on the ps3.

Ow that is so much bull you're writing there... MS just gives games that are here and now, not into the distant future like Sony already does for 2 years and then delay after delay.

If you're honest, this year on the PS3 only the real ones worth are: MGS4, LBP and Resistance 2. Where MGS4 doesn't interest me in gameplay, LBP looks promising and R2 also isn't for me.

On the other hand, the 360 has Ninja Gaiden 2 (with an 8.2 average review above GT5P on 8.0 and Heavenly Sword 8.1), Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Fallout 3 exclusive content and maybe GTAIV DLC. Then it has Viva Piniata 2 (yes its a good game and scores about 8.4 out of 10 average) and games like Left 4 Dead are great for 2008. Let alone the new dashboard with its extended online features the PS3 still can't match.

I bet for 2009 these titles will show up on the 360: Forza 3, Halo 4, Halo Wars, Alan Wake, DOA5 (dude 3 was on XBOX1 and 4 on 360 launch), Splinter Cell: Conviction, Mass Effect 2, PGR5 and MS will announce new IP's @ TGS (they do the grand opening there, so they'll have announcements to make!).

If you are that short sighted. And FFXIII won't come a year earlier to the PS3. In Europe/USA the versions will both be released at the same time. The only games worth on the PS3 in 2009 are Killzone 2, God of War III en GT5 a non demo version.

I did not buy my ps3 for the games or blueray. I bought my ps3 for the same reason that the majority of the people on this site bought one. Potential. lol
