Biggunz I submited this story about: http://www.n4g.com/NewsPending-421595.aspx And it gets failed for being a dup when I submitted it about 20 min before this: http://www.n4g.com/NewsCom-421586.aspx?CT=1 whats up with that? Please refer to the last six digits of the URL. This indicates the order of submission, as the timestamp resets upon approval. Your submission was 9 submissions after the earlier one. @Xander. I have been away, but the submission did not fail for reports but for not receiving sufficient approvals.

This is actually over an approved article but I couldn't find a more relevant forum topic to post this in. My article's categories were unfairly removed after approval by an admin: http://n4g.com/NewsPending-424577.aspx Originally, it had Xbox 360, PS3 and PC channels since it was a general response to this piece: http://n4g.com/pc/News-424263.aspx That had the same categories in it since both articles dealt with Valve, Chet and the decision only to create 360 and PC games and not PS3. As the article was written for the same audience that had access to the first, and since all original categories are relevant, I'd like them restored please. Thanks.

Actually, your story is ranting about N4G and how to spot biased content on the site, and only passingly makes reference to the Gabe Newell story. That doesn't justify PC/360/PS3 channels when your entire story is about N4G, and not the developer or the console themselves. Your story belongs in the Gaming channel, and nothing more. "The Gaming channel is for news about game tournaments, game culture, retro games and other off beat gaming related news or stories." http://n4g.com/Info/NewsPostingTips.aspx#channels

http://n4g.com/NewsPending-429783.aspx This was reported as a duplicate and called old news, neither of which are correct. This is a new patch that was released earlier today, and it hasn't been submitted yet on N4G. Could I get the article approved or get the report removed? Thanks.

Basically, we don't want contests that pimp your site, or are for your own site. There are other networks for that. Contests like the R&C weapons contest, the PSB Fat Princess contest, those come to mind as acceptable contests. Similarly, we're likely to let contests from industry giants like G4 through.

What's the difference between a G4 contest that makes you sign up, and a no name blog contest that just makes you leave a comment? Edit: I'm not arguing, just showing the other side of the coin.

caliblue15 What's the difference between a G4 contest that makes you sign up, and a no name blog contest that just makes you leave a comment? Edit: I'm not arguing, just showing the other side of the coin. I chose that example because of its practicality in this instance: we chose to let the G4 one stay. Simple litmus test: is site B(and possible site C, D, E and F) covering the contest of site A? If yes, then that's a good indicator for us. And the no name blog can use other channels than N4G, it's not newsworthy.

Shouldn't we allow the members decide if its newsworthy or not. I'd rather enter a no name blog contest than the big guys, because I have much more of a chance.

Edit: I'm not arguing, just showing the other side of the coin. Well let's face it G4 is bigger than your site and offers a more professional approach towards gaming. Not being harsh but more realistic.

http://n4g.com/NewsPending-435291.aspx Why was this failed? I saw another Cyber Monday post, but it didn't have the same deals that were in my submission. Also, my submission source link is going to be updated hourly. There is no way that another submission is doing that. Therefore it is not a duplicate.
