Might be rumor but this game would be fantastic on the wii.update the control scheme, add in some surprise wii exclusive areas(just liek they did with the re remake for gcn) with wii(actually wii, ground up)graphics and i would buy this in a heart beat.

So would I.This might be a good plan for Capcom.Just like how Square gives DS owners the rremakes of classic Final Fantasy games

.________.

This is terrible... Resi 2 is a great game, don't get me wrong, but it's a bleedin' PSOne game! Resi 0, 1 and 4 are understandable because they were all on the Gamecube and therefore it's a fitting port. But porting a really old PSOne game onto the Wii and expecting people to buy it? Come on... Unless they really did something amazing, there's no way it'd sell. They'd be better off releasing the N64 port on the VC.

A port would suck
A remake on the other hand would interest me

With you.
i enjoyed RE remake for the gcn just because they made new areas to explore. They need to do that with this game if they want my attention.

I was referring this one, as they would obviously port this one instead of the PSOne game.

Actually he is still wrong because Resident Evil 2 was ported to the Gamecube, and updated slightly from its N64 version.
So i have no clue what hes talking about.

In order for it to be a viable sale, they'd need to literally build the game from the ground up all over again. Something they neither have the time nor inclination to do, with all their other products needing their attention. So porting Resi 1 is a much better idea, because it would require far less work.

Actually RE4 was the biggest surprise I ever got in my gaming life.As a defender of the GCN for four years, having RE4 go to the PS2 shattered my view of the industry as good people. At that point I lost trust in Capcom. If RE2 came to the Wii,that would make me happy...but for now its not coming.

"The Nintendo GameCube version, released in 2003, is identical to the PlayStation's Dual Shock Version in terms of content, featuring only a minimal set of improvements such as skippable cut scenes and a higher framerate for the game's FMV sequences".

You think that a suitable port for the Wii? That was nowhere near the level of Resi 1's remake. I'd be ashamed if they did what you want, and rereleased this version with Wiimote control...

i was refering to what you said about how resident evil 2 was for psone, and how you said you could see RE 0,1,and 4 because they were on the gamecube......i was just stating that RE 2 was also on the gamecube so i dont understand what you were talking about, hence what i said.
Btw when did i ever say that was a suitable port for the wii?a remake is completely different then a port.

Resident Evil 2 and 3 never received the Gamecube treatment. While they have both been on the console, neither was updated in any significant way. In contrast, the other three games listed by me before were all made from the ground up for the Gamecube. Given Capcom's preferred tactic of porting their Gamecube Resi games to the Wii, I cannot see them releasing their port of Resident Evil 2 onto the Wii (and that same tactic also rules out any ground-up remakes of the game too). The game might have been passable for the Gamecube, given the reduced price, but the same trick won't work a second time. In short, Resident Evil 2 isn't suitable for a Wii Edition.

Get it now?
