This isn't 1996 anymore, guys. RE1's formula would not translate well onto modern day consoles. Albeit, RE4 was completely different than the previous three installments, it was still critically acclaimed. The cheesey voice acting, clunky controls, and two-dollar aiming system had to go, upgrades needed to be made. Now don't get me wrong, I completely understand the complaints about RE being more like a TPS now as opposed to a survival horror game, but what else would you suggest Capcom have done? Times change and games evolve, that's just the way it is.
