Hey guys so I have a 32" LCD TV that supports up to 1080i HD (no 1080p unfortunately ). For some reason, when I start up GTA4 with both 720p and 1080i enabled, it defaults back to 720p! I have to manually disable 720p to play the game in 1080i. Has anyone else had this problem? I also noticed, that since I turned DVD upscaling to double, games that are supposed to play in 720p (like Resistance for example), play in 1080i (at least according to my TV's info display). What's up with all this? Any help is greatly appreciated. This is my first post in this community, it seems like a cool place and I hope to become a contributing member. Thanks again dudes!

I think that the developers deliberately do this. They opt for 720p over 1080i (don't know why!). I'm pretty sure COD4 does this too, check if you like.

You could always spend your money on better things, like Stevie, for instance. Most games nowadays last 4-8 hours, but you certainly get your money's worth with that Scottish studmuffin.

To be honest, I think that 720p is much better than 1080i anyway.

You'll have a hard time noticing any difference anyway.

You're not having any problems.

The game is 720p native.

Here's how I rank:

1080p>720p>1080i>480p

and for some games 1080p actually makes the game play worse (framerate, v-sync):

720p>1080p/i>480p

Since you don't have 1080p though, 720p is your best bet pretty much always.
