360 is always a good choice. You can't go wrong with either. Use metacritic and see which has more games you seem interested in.

Couldn't agree more. It's all subjective on which genre you like. There are many, many 'answers' possible on your question.

XBOX 360: http://www.metacritic.com/games/xbox360/scores/
PS3: http://www.metacritic.com/games/ps3/

XBOX 360: 98 games with an 8 or higher, 12 games with a 9 or higher, 3 exclusives with a 9 or higher
PS3: 57 games with an 8 or higher, 5 games with a 9 or higher, 1 exclusive with a 9 or higher

XBOX 360 Arcade 199 Euro
XBOX 360 Premium 269 Euro
XBOX 360 Elite 349 Euro

PS3 (40GB): 399 Euro

other prices of other PS3 models I don't know for sure. If you just want to step into next gen graphics and no online gaming, you'll be fine with the 360 Arcade for half the price of a PS3. Otherwise always buy the Premium if you go for the 360.

But then again, its all your preference.

look at upcoming releases for each system (exclusives) and go for the one that has more games you want to play

thats a unbiased answer for you, by someone who could care less which system has the most sales

Great. Now we need a Sony fan to come in and try to sell him a PS3 to even it out.

I'll throw something in here: If you want a well-built, reliable console, then be wary when buying the 360. Not to let that put you off, but you need to be careful with it, it just seems to randomly die whenever someone has the sheer gall to try and play games on it.

As for Metacritic: take everything on there with a grain of salt. They're owned by CNET, who also happen to own Gamespot, and only count reviews they want to be credible. As in, they often censor scores for particular games. Not that you can't get a good idea of how well a games doing, but it never seems to reflect overall quality to a substantial degree. What I'm saying, is it's not a very trustworthy Meta, unless you happen to be a 360 fan.

Both are great consoles in terms of the content they offer. If you decide on purchasing a 360, I would recommend waiting until August where the Jasper-equipped 360s make into retail, to reduce chances of getting an RROD. And you never know, there's a probably a price drop right around the corner.

Definatly go for 360, gets some huge RPG's this year, that will last for 100+ hours each, unlike PS3 tiny games

Just Fable 2, Too Human, Tales and Infinite Undiscovery are enough to pick it 1000 times over PS3 IMO

Yes but **** is banned. He shall return with a new account tho...someday

Both have their advantages and disadvantages but personally i think PS3 has more advantages until the 360 drops price. Blu ray player, free online service. Both have a bunch of exclusives so it depends on what matters to you.

Alright, NintendoKid, since you're trying to make a decision that could potentially be rather costly, I would recommend you not listen to people that say things like this (the guy I quoted), as their intentions are obvious.

It matter games you want and the controller. Both systems are very much the same. The ports on the ps3 are becoming how they are on the 360 so that is not a big deal. So the thing that matters is the controller. Now the exclusive games that is up to you. Look up the list for both and see what you like better

Should I get a 360???  Only if you have a fire extinguisher...  :)

Serously:   If the games you like are on the 360??  Then get one.   I don't know if the RROD's are still alive, but you should do some reasearch on that too.

IMO your best choice is the PS3, if you're looking for a reliable console with many exclusive games to look forward to this year and the next.  Also PSN is improving fast.

You can't go wrong with the PS3 either.

Do some research and choose the one that has the games that appeal to you.

Personally I would advise looking at the upcoming E3 to see if there's any exclusives you'd like to own in the future, so at least it'll give you a better idea of what to expect for the console of your choice.

Its impossible for us to tell you what you like so you have to go by what you perfer.

First, what type of games do you enjoy? Exclusives for either console are worthless if its something you are not interested in

Next, do you plan on using your console for anything else than just gaming?

Finally, other preferences like controller, online, and if your friends have ps3/360 also come into play as well.

I don't think half the fanboys that get accused of using multiple accounts actually do, they just keep bubbled up by PM'ing their fellow fanboys love letters. I remember being mistaken for a 360 fanboy and was sent a PM, referring me to other 360 fans for when I needed any more bubbles, if the PSTards take any away. That was great.

Yea i agree. Watch out for E3 see the games the companies are focusing on.

I wonder why we focus so much on exclusives. The games most avg gamers are most likely interested in are multi plat anyway
