Is there a sleep timer on the PS3, other than downloading new versions?  Or is there even a way to turn it off while I'm not home. I don't have a PSP by the way.

Search feature is down for me so I cannot search Sleep timer terms.

I prefer the idea of getting one of those things that are like plugs, but cut power off from the device after a set period of time set by you.

I dunno Corrupt, it may not be a good idea to cut the power off completely to a system with a hard drive.  But thanks for the life with playstation idea, i will use it.

Because it burns a hole in your electric bill.  That's why.

Unfortunately, there is not a sleep timer.  The best bet you have is to set the auto-on for Folding@Home and at least you'll be able to help the research of cancer

That's my situation all the time lol. Usually every Thursday night (or Friday morning) I start DLing everything I want from the store and run LWP to access the sleep timer
