One day in the future when I can afford it, and grow a little older. All my live I've had what seemingly is a natural high hairline and I didn't mind that to be honest even though your not happy with it (you just accept it). But from judging recent photo's its becoming apparent that this hairline is really unattractive, or/and is receeding - to the point I do not even like people taking photo's of me. (so it took some effort posting these here)

This isn't about what others may think, I could care less, but this is really how a person feels about themself. I'm not a shallow person, nor do I really care for appearance but I believe we should all make some kind of an effort to groom ourselves. Anyway its bothering me. Sometimes I notice my mother staring at my head, I mean - when your mother stares you know its bad right? lol. Anyway, here are some photo's.

This doesn't look bad at all..

But as I turn around to face you

An added disadvantage is the fact that I'm short (170cm, around 5"7) so it kinda stands out. I'd be fine with my hairline if it was 1.5inches lower, so the V shape thing line is removed, and 1cm of hair added to lower it further. I say this because most doctors say a persons hairline should be up to the point the last wrinkle appears (raise your eye brows high and you'll form wrinles on your forehead. For some people like me, they're hairline is alot further back, inches back).

So what do you guys think? I'd appreciate some honesty and maturity. Thanks

I think it's a good idea. If it's what you want, I do not see the harm.

One should be happy with one's own aesthetic look, and if something is bugging them, by all means look into solutions.

I mean, if you were in a similar position, would you consider changing it or think its not needed?

I honestly dont think it looks that bad at all.

If you want to go ahead with the procedure however; it doesnt seem like you'd need very many grafts to achieve the desired effect. Be warned though; after a hair transplant bald patches all around your head can manifest as your scalp goes into shock. This temporary side effect can last from a month or two to a year; so be prepared mentally to deal with this side effect if you want to go through with the procedure (though the doctor will go through this with you)

The problem is I can't answer that like you can. I don't know how you're feeling.

I would think so though, I consider my hair to be an important thing to me in terms of how I look. So I guess, yes, I would.

How many grafts? I estimate around 1500-2000 but thats me just preparing for a budget. Lol I wish I had an actual body photo, from a distance, you'd think I was actually bold

probbably about ~2000. If your serious the best thing you can do is look at some before and after photos and from that you can kind of estimate what you'll need done before you consult the surgeon.

good luck.

I second that. I don't think it'll be that bad man, unless you end up like one of those guys at 40 who's like 90% bald except with a strip of hair that goes behind their ears and around the back of their head. At that point it's like "gee give it the hell up already", it's then that you go to the bathroom with the clippers, or razor, and put the boy out of his misery. Then again I have no qualms with being bald as it is, because I look damn good bald and since your head doesn't look all super deformed you'll be good as well.

"Sooner kill yourself than go bald" - What absolute pig manure. Prove it then.

OP - Don't risk anything. Baldness is natural and for most men, inevitable to some degree.

Also, there are women out there who love baldness. One day maybe you'll have kids. Your sons will inherit your disposition to baldness. Will you tell your own sons to see a plastic surgeon? I doubt it.

I know when you are younger it is a big issue, but don't do the transplant. Believe me, when you get older, you'll be happier without hair. As I now am.

I have a loving wife who adores my bald head. I also work underwater a lot, and I don't need to worry about damaging my locks with seawater. Plus, I don't spend any money on shampoos and conditioners. With the savings, I can buy more games!!!

You look fine dude... why change yourself and make yourself something you're not naturally.

If it's confidence you're looking for... having full head of hair isnt going to help you or hurt you any.

Learn to live with and love what God has given you! Make the best out of whatever life throws at you!

I honestly think you look fine Meus. I think I'll go bald soon too, it's in my genes. I shave my head though so it won't be a problem. I used to have long hair but when I went to military training I had to shave and I've done that since. You really made an effort in creating this thread and props to you for that!

Btw, reading this thread makes me love this community even more with all the helpful replies.

I can tell you more if you want to PM me. I had a hair transplant. The doctor botched the job. You have enough hair left to try Propecia. If you haven't heard of it, ask your doctor. It's a prescription pill that can help you keep your hair. Combine that with Minoxodil which is not nearly as effective but it's inexpensive now. I was one of the first people in my city to try it.

Definately go Propecia and Minoxodil. Not only are hair transplants expensive and extremely painful, if the doctor does a bad job like mine did, you are stuck with it.

Dude before you go through a expensive and maybe painful procedure like a hair transplant try cheaper methods they might work. Buy some rogain or some other type of herbal product.

Nah man, your hairline is fine. Most guys with your ethnic background tend to have a widows peak like that, nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about.

You keep your hair pretty short as well so I can't say it's a huge detriment to your daily life. Really, something like that is never really noticed by other people. As long as you have your self confidence, then all is right in the world.
