Well one thing is for sure this is essentially rare's last chance to show if they still have the spark they had in the good ol nintendo days. I'm sure it will be a good game though, from what i understand the original banjo team is working on it

IMO rare were probably one of the best developers ever. Donkey kong was probably my favourite SNES game and i enjoyed Banjo 1 (not as much as mario 64 but still great). Ever since they joined MSoft, they haven't really done much. I played viva pinyata demo, it was crap to me but then again i'm not into that sort of nonsense. Everytime i tried to hit the girl with the shovel it got seized

Rare have essentially gone from an A developer to a B- developer. I'll give them benefit of the doubt for PDZ since it was a launch title but i expected more from them. Hopefully BK3 is great, it certainly has the potential but i wonder if Rare still has the heart

Sonarus I completely agree with you Microsoft is holding rare back. I just hope Microsoft lets rare create the games they want not the ones microsoft wants them to make. It seems like Ms is interested in the casual crowd and they are using Rare to develope for that crowd. Viva Pinata, viva pinata party animals, Kameo those are all casual type games. I hope they wow us with Bk 3 and Killer Instinct 3.

Yea it really does look like Msoft is using Rare as their key to that casual market

Ya big ol evil MS is keeping the artistic develops from doing what they want.

Considering none of their games so far have been very casual and 2 out of the 3 of them have been new IP's I think saying MS is the problem is stupid.

Banjo was awesome. It also had that epic board game ending.

We don't get platformers like Banjo and Mario 64 anymore. In my honest opinion, the last real platformer I can remember being amazing was Jak and Daxter, but the last generation was fairly weak on them as a whole. Sly, Blinx, and Ratchet were good too, but they didn't feel like "real' platformers.

What games have they released since they were picked up by Msoft. Rare dropped so many hit and original games it was crazy. Since they joined MSoft, all they have been able to do for them is viva pinyata. I remember reading something about how Msoft is using rare to manufacture the xbox wii mote thing. Not trying to say msoft is evil and against creativity and all that crap but how the hell did they obtain rare and completely fuk em up. We are talking about the guys that gave us banjo, conker, killer instinct, donkey kong, golden eye, perfect dark. About a decade ago everything they touched was gold now Msoft bought em and now they are creating bronze

Bloodmask's post says more in one picture than any true fighting fans could in words on the game Rare should really be working on. In response to Sonarus' post, Microsoft didnt or isnt holding Rare back.  In fact, they made one of the greatest moves by attempting to get Goldeneye on their platform.  But anyway, Rare started to fall of right around the beginning of the Gamecube cycle.  They made some pretty terrible games.  Microsoft just bought them at a time where they got lazy.

Basically, they need those Free Radical devs back on their team.

Well according to some people individuals don't matter, companies make games so Rare should be just fine.
