I am a strong advocate of download over disc. First of all you eliminate stupid installs that take 5GB when the download option is only like 1.8GB (GT5P ). However with Socom effectively teasing with a bluetooth headset, i don't think i can resist the 60bucks price tag that comes with a headset as well. This will be my first retail purchase when giving the option to download. I already have a headset buts socom one looks better

Im probably going to get the disc one only because of the headset.  I had my friends warhawk headset since basically he had gotten warhawk.

Discs for me.
I find downloads particularly annoying for a number of reasons which I won't list.(My ISP knows about it)

Yeah, I'll get the disc too for the headset.
I probably wouldn't be able to download it anyway......stupid connection

i prefer disc over download for any game.
i bought warhawk because it came with a headset and was only $40 on sale on release.
but i'm going to get a PSEye since i heard it's a lot better if you need a mic.

I don't really know about this game, but that headset seems really hard to pass up... looks really sweet.. but I doubt it will be $60 for game with headset. If it is then count me in for the DISC baby

Tangible media will always own all other alternatives, no matter what.

Especially when it comes with free stuff!

How can you possibly weigh getting a new headset, and the lack of changing discs against each other? The choice is a no-brainer.

Im getting the disc for 3 reasons.

1) I rather have physical media than having to download, regardless of installations. Although the option to be able to download on another PS3 if i buy it via psn is cool so my friend may not have to buy the game, it's still not to my liking.

2) The headset is a VERY nice option. You're able to use it while it's charging which is NEEDED considering how long i spend gaming with it.

3) It's also possible to buy the disc based version without the headset. I read it somewhere and will post the link if someone else doesnt find it before me, but the fact that I dont need to pay for the headset and get game anyway on disc is awesome.

I agree for all the reasons stated above.  I passed on the MGS headset because I knew this was just around the corner.

Well if they pull the same crap like with what they did with Warhawk and only let you use it on one account with the downloadable version, then I am definitely getting the disk version. ....

I'd get download if I were getting the game. But I'm not. So neither.

I may have to agree with you here.

I normally much prefer disks because I try myself to store a disk far longer than I expect a online download server to be available.  However, with an online only game, why not download.  If the game is no longer available for download, then it's probably not available to be played online either, so it's useless.

For any normal game though, I must have a disk.

Download FTW.

Disk is not nexgen  The advantage of push button gaming is huge, the only viable option for the disk version is if it allow for full installs. The headset is worthless, you can buy a decent one on ebay for $15.
