and you were voting for Hilary this November which obviously wont happen, if out of spite you go and vote for that Deuche canoe McCain instead of Obama someone who is the complete opposite of Obama and Hilary doesnt that just show that you just dont want aperson of colour in office even if he can make a change for the better. I dont see how people can switch to McCain a Republican just cause Hilary a Democrat dropped out seeing that Obama a Democrat is so much more similar to Hilary than McCain. Can someone just explain to me how people get to this decision cus i dont see how it makes sense, O yeah no one say im some black radical my dads white and my moms black so im a nice cup of mulatto.

It does surprise me that people would go to the other end out of spite. I would think you would go to the next candidate that fits your beliefs.

They must be really angry, and definetly dislike Obama, especially considering they probably aren't too fond of mcain.

Then again this could just be a vocal minority not majority of Hilary supporters.

Well, Clinton endorsed Obama and I hope that her followers/supporters don't ignore that, even if they are disappointed.

i didnt like either right from the start.... hillary, obama, or edwards.

the whople race thing bothers me though... people are trying to make it seem like if you don't like obama you're racist, as if we have to like him... one step closer to Communism!!!

It all depends on what you look for in a President. If you want someone with a lot of experience in Washington D.C., there is no denying that McCain fits this bill more than Obama.

Also, Obama is a lot more liberal on a lot of things as opposed to Clinton. That may not work with most people so they want a more conservative President.

Anyone who votes for the party over the person is uneducated. So it isn't a matter of Democratic Hillary voters must now support Democratic Obama otherwise they are racist, is dangerous.

I haven't decided who I am voting for yet, we need to see how these people really are during the Presidential debates.

do you know the politics behind each candidate?

obama supporters i know just say they like him for change, but dont know his ideals...and when i hear obama speak on his plans i never hear the HOW...as in how will he do it, his plans.

also people might feel more sucure with hillary since our country did well under her husband, and mccain has more expierence.

He certainly has more charisma than McCain. Will that be enough to get him elected? I sure hope not. I'm not against him necessarily, I just think he is a little naive. Really, neither candidate fully supports what is important to me. Obama is for Universl Health Care (which is a dumb idea, but his plan isn't as dumb as Hillary's was) while McCain lives him some Iraq.

It's just going to come down to what is most important to me when it is time to vote. Also, the VP will make a big difference.

At the end of the day though, I still may just write-in Ron Paul!

A democrat has to win and fix this damn state that we are thanks to this idiot republican that sadly, was 8 years with power.

Now that we finally have the Presidential candidate for the democrats, I hope that Obama wins.

I personally don't see how a Universal Healthcare plan is dumb.

George W. Bush does not represent all Republicans (or a majority of them for that matter). While I agree that McCain is more Bush than I would like, just don't get in the habit of thinking that every Republican is going to be just like Bush.

if its implemented right it probably would be, but I would assume it would probably take a massive overhaul and lots of $$$$.

Or we could totally screw it up too if thats possible lol.

But yeah as Raines said go by the Candidate not party.

I am still unsure who i will vote for.

I understand that but McCain looks to be another Bush so I really hope he loses.

I don't want to hijack the thread by any means, but since it was brought up, I will give you a summary of my views.

I used to weigh over 300 pounds. Realizing that this was seriously hazardous to my health and could be very COSTLY with medical bills in the future, I decided to lose some weight. I got all the way down to 213 but I have gradually increased due to laziness (still nowhere near where I was). While my major incentive was to get healthy so I could live longer, another major reason to get my ass in better shape was because I didn't want to have to pay the copays for triple-bypass surgery. If there was Universal HealthCare, where is the incentive for people to take care of themselves?

And the quality of care will drastically drop if this goes into effect. The free market is the best thing for any and every situation and you are basically removing it from the most important industry. The system is already screwed eight ways to Sunday because of the pharmaceutical lobbyists in D.C. and the already insane regulations in place today. The answer isn't more regulation, it is less.

I could go on for a lot more and counter any objection but I won't. I'll be happy to answer any questions or clarifications of my views via PM.

yeah lol though i dont really hear him say anything about that. I dont totally remember the context either.

But yeah we will have to pull out sometime, but not too quick or else the region will be destabilized and go to chaos even more than now. As in lots of deaths, My mind is kinda blurry here, but it would be like in the gulf war when we told the Shiites(i believe) that we would back them when going against Hussein then we left....and they were slaughtered. Picture that x10 now that iran seems to be a little rebellious toward the UN. And then they are arming insurgents in Iraq.

Very delicate.

Oh and you have the whole sunni vs shiite issue too.

Very complex as well.

As for healthcare...well either way you go there are alot of problems either way you go

His actual quote in context was referring to having a base in Iraq for 100 years if needed. There is nothing unreasonable about this. We only have one permanent military base in the Middle East (Turkey) and that place is going to go ape-**** crazy when oil starts to run out. While I don't agree that we have to be the police of the world, it's not as bad of a comment as some of the Democrats make it sound.

And, just to give you some context, we have had active military bases in Germany since right after World War II. That's over 60 years.
