Title says it all, who was the best retro super hero?

I have to say Sonic, I was always a Sega man but I loved Sonic well more than Mario even if they were on the same platform, but I think that it ruined it when it went 3D, they should still make games which are 2D

they need to make them 2.5D that way the could make them look "next gen" and still keep the core gameplay from the originals

Thats tough.

Sonic 2 is by far the best, and its also really good with Sonic & Knuckles

But, Mario has moved on.

Im gonna say Sonic as a stand alone....and Mario for the rest.

I think Mario has had a better run looking at all his games but sonic was fun as hell. But i definitely agree i would love a next-gen 2d game.

I'm a former Sega fanboy so I would have to choose Sonic over Mario. So there!

Mario is the most famous; but i do believe Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was the best game of either the two.. i'd have to go with Sonic.

If you asked me this question before 2004 I would have said Sonic but now I'd have to say Mario as his games are better.

I'm going to have to jump on the bandwagon and say Sonic. Anyone remember that episode of the Simpsons where Bart was going to steal a game, but then Mario showed up on his shoulder and started trying to talk him out of it? It was so awesome when Sonic showed up looking like some kind of tweaker and started telling him to take the game. lol. Good times.

So yaa...Sonic FTW.
