Whoever posts an answer to the OP's question with an answer other than "Star Wars," or "Lord of the Rings" will have their posts deleted.

The OP did not ask about Halo, Dune, or anything else... the question was Star Wars or LOTR... answer appropriately please.

Neither. Both are rather childish. Original Star Wars trilgoy is decent for the uber awesome Darth Vader and the first LOTR film is rather intense and well made but the next 2 LOTR films are horrible childish films and the new SW trilogy is like a joke...

The Matrix is the best.

Star Wars is better than LOTR by FAR.

and childish? If you look closely into StarWars, Lucas took a lot of time and effort to put actual religious, philosophical, and historical meanings into the film. Fate, prophetic messiah, the red and black empire uniforms are remeniscent of the NAZI flag and even StormTroopers was the name given to the special guard and soldiers of Hitler. There is a lot of meaning in both series which take it away from being childish. Episodes I-III change the pace, but they too have philosophical and historical undertones.. anyway, StarWars kicks LOTR ass, any day

Good points Solid_Snake but still, I don't think SW is enough. I love some of themes and overall, it's view on good and evil, jedi and sith and overall, balance in the force is great and indeed StarWars kicks LOTR ass any day BUT the new trilogy almost ruined the whole thing. Sure, it has some of original themes but the movies themselves (Episode 1-3) are terrible and even the improved Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith is pretty weak and way below original 3.

both are good, but considering the last 3 films for star wars were...ummm to put int nicely ok....and the last 3 LOTR films were freagin awesome

plus i like the story of LOTR better, and yes i have read the books
