I’ve been running a gaming website ‘Casualty Gamer’ mostly solo for the last 2 months and I have been oddly really enjoying it. The website so far has been gaming list based content and features, basically any decent stories/articles that could be interesting for gamers has been published.

Now after getting my feet wet in running a gaming website I’d like to be able to expand it by being able to publish gaming news, specifically relating to more casual gaming, eg. Xbox Live, WiiWare, Web Based Gaming etc.

So I realize this may not be everyone’s cup of tea but is anyone interested in writing news?
Ideally I’d like a couple of people who can submit news whenever they have a bit of spare time.

I can’t offer much in return, only ego boosting for watching the view counts and the feeling you have accomplished something (although if the ad revenue picks up I’ll happily share it).

If anyone is interested or has questions post here, pm me or you can email me at help’at’casualtygamer.com (replace ‘at’ with @)
Cheers :)

Hey, currently on the second article down or here I have more details of what I'm looking for.

But ultimately it involves;
  • Keeping tabs on upcoming game releases.
    • Either by watching official sites, or other gaming networks.
  • Reviewing/analyzing new releases.
  • Interviewing Devs (probably wont happen till we get enough cred).
  • Previewing/Hyping upcoming games.

Alright, that sounds good, now is it just casual gaming, or can we go big platforms?

Ideally I'd like to stick to the topics listed to start with.
  • Xbox Live Arcade
  • WiiWare
  • Browser Based Gaming (BBG)
    • Flash Games
    • Browser Based Games
    • Java Games

  • Independent Gaming
    • Smaller game company news/releases/games
    • Solo Developers
    • etc
The reasoning being, the big platforms are currently covered to hell and it would be nearly impossible to get a foothold in the market when going up against the big guns(IGN, Gamespot etc). If you think about it why would anyone read this website for news when the big sites will already have it covered.
Hence we need to find a niche, and the niche I think would be best is for smaller games. As we gain popularity expanding to cover the total platform would be great but currently it's not really feasible.

Not really, it's writing original content instead of submitting somebody else's work.

Seeing as how little old Slice mysteriously went under, I am very interested. Xbox Live Arcade is something I am definitely into.

Of course this begs the question...what of future free games?

Hopefully it'll happen but again it relies on first building up cred in the gaming world.
Also I sent you a PM back.

I am pretty big into PSN games and have written a review for Echochrome on this site.

http://n4g.com/reviews/PS3/UReview-143403.aspx

I would be happy to give some reviews and such if thats what your looking for. However expect a delay in my being able to start ASAP cause I am in the process of moving and internet access is in havoc ATM. However if you PM me in a week or so I should be able to start helpin out. Check out my review and let me know bro.

Game on.

P.S. I play some Wiiware titles too but not too fond of em so I would probably be biased.

@ Toughname. If you haven't tried Carcasonne from XBL most def my fav game on thier.

Edit: Fixed review link

Odion's place is here, on the N4G forums, forever to be a cancer to the good people who call this home!
