Thought we needed a thread where members can post any cool download links. Post content such as: game addons, game demos, legal ebooks, legal music, freeware, shareware software, screensavers, desktop themes, skins, patches, service pack.

You cannot post the following:
-Warez [cracked/pirated software]
-Torrents
-Data that is not licenced to be publicly available on the Internet
-Self advetisement or promotional content - unless you have surpassed the 150 post guideline.

You must:
-Post links to direct specific software not sites in general as mentioned above.
-State whether the software you have posted is free or not. Make sure to state the price, if it does cost at all.
-Give a description of the link you post

Failure to comply with the guidelines will result in a post delete and a warning. Break the rules a second time and a report will be sent to an admin requesting an immediate suspension.

Also use this thread to request software.

List

Music

Rhapsody Online -
-A great site for music. They even let you listen to 25 songs for free. That little gift re-instates every month.
Niggytardust.com Free Album by Saul Williams...

Free Games
Wing Commander -Privateer Remake -- This game was fricken awesome....so awesome I'm actually going to dl it again.  It's a shame that I never got Privateer 2 to work.

America's Army --A great first person shooter developed by the American Government and paid for by the tax payers.

N -- A unique flash game where you play as a NINJA!

Teewars -- Great free online game that is like a non-turn-based Worms with Kirby's as the characters.  This is the closest to a direct download page.  Just click on your OS of choice on the left and the download will pop up.  It is in the early development stages right now, but it works fine, and is plenty playable in it's current state.

9dragons -- A great online MMORPG that is actually quite similar to WoW in some ways. Be warned: life consuming.

Kitten Cannon -- Self explanitory.

Game Makers
YoYo Game Maker --An easy tool which gives you the opportunity to develop your very first game. Tutorials included.

Free OS
Ubuntu -- A great "free" OS.

Browsers
Firefox -- A great browser which actually works with this site.

Opera -- Another free browser within Firefox's standards.

Graphic Programs
Gimp -- basically use this if you can't afford Photoshop.

Blender.org - It's a free 3d modeling/rendering/animation program, on teh cheap! (free!).

Photoshop Express -- A fresh version of Photoshop available to you computer graphics artist. Completely free.

Free Word Processors
OpenOffice.org Writer -- A bit struck for cash? Can't afford Word? Try this neat free word processor.

Extras
PortableApps.com Suite -- A suite of portable apps to stick onto your USB. Try them out.

Unlocker -- Quote: How often have you tried to delete or rename a file or folder and got "Cannot delete xxx: It is being used by another person or program." ? Unlocker is a tool which will help you removing this scandaleous Windows bug. Simply right click the file or folder and select Unlocker. If the file or folder is locked then a window will appear with a list of processes locking the file or folder. Select the locks and click Unlock and you  are done.

Waybackmachine-Browse through 85 billion web pages archived from 1996 to a few months ago...type in the web address of a site or page where you would like to start, and press enter. Then select from the archived dates available. The resulting pages point to other archived pages at as close a date as possible.

Archive.org
-The Software Archive is designed to preserve and provide access to all kinds of rare or difficult to find, legally downloadable software titles and background information on those titles.

http://www.archive.org/details/education-Open Educational Resources and university lectures. This library contains hundreds of free courses, video lectures, and supplemental materials from universities in the United States and China. Many of these lectures are available for download.

AniHub -- Great for all you anime lovers out there.

That was my first thought, but it would age over the amount of time it would take to mail out to you, and thus, you'd think I sent you one of my home-made "sausages".

drrty.

and nobody should have to use Gimp.  It's going to be like OLPC campaign, only not entirely botched: One Photoshop Per Child.

Yes, well, not many people pay for Photoshop, and the majority of Photoshop owners tend to download it illegally, and I don't know if posting torrents is legal here...

Well I put my 100 bucks where my mouth is and bought photoshop.  So there

I don't use it a lot though   I hate that silly small manual they give you that helps with nothing.  Nothing I say!

My employer keeps me in Adobe.  As for the manual, I've always been more of a learn-as-I-go type but the heftier manual you can buy separately is great.

Does anyone know of any sites to download movies right to the PS3 HDD similar to Stage6, or joox.net?

Hey Rael... can you add "9dragons" to the list of free games. It's a mmorpg, similar to WoW, but it's entirely free... and I dont feel like editing your post.

Mind if I ask for a link, Duke? For some reason Google is on the fritz at the moment, and I can't bare to look at Yahoo...

I'll add Arch's link in a moment.
