Despite their simplicity and often broken mechanics I enjoyed the Power Stone series quite a bit.

The original Street Fighter was fun as was the original Mortal Kombat but the second of both series was were it's at. Killer Instinct was kick ass and I had some fun with Primal Rage. Soul Caliber is one of the few 3d fighters I like(Ivy FTW). I can't remember which one but there was a Dragonball Z game for the Playstation 1 I liked. I tried looking it up but I can find it with all crappy DBZ games released through the years.

You were probably talking about Dragonball GT. That was the only good one for the PS1. ONe of my favorites would have to be Rival Schools. That game was cool and I loved the fighting schools idea.

Are you talking about Final Bout because I remember playing that one too and I don't think it was that good. It's really hard for me to remember but I remember having a blast with it. It may have been a Japan only game but I remember the characters were pretty small and flew around all over the place. Not like a traditional 2D fighter. IDK i'm starting to strain myself thinking about it. Man I'm getting old.

I remember it was DBZ Legends I think... Man that game was pretty bad but it was still fun as hell. By todays standards it would be unplayable I bet.

DBZ Legends is still fun as hell to play.  Up until the Budokai Tenkaichi series, I thought that DBZ legends was the best and most uniuqe DBZ fighter out there.  As an engine, DBZ Legends has the most unique fighting engine I've ever played.

Also, the definitive version is the Saturn version.  I have both the PS1 and Saturn copies and I much prefer the sharper visuals and increased difficulty of the Saturn DBZ Legends.

Really? I figured it wouldn't have aged well. I used to crack up laughing playing that game. I had the Japanese version so I couldn't tell what the heck was going on but I still had alot of fun.

For me, Street Fighter Alpha Series. Or in Particular 1 and 2.  Didn't like the combo system as much in 3.

Also Tekken would have to have a mention
