Can not finish an online race, seriously the matchmaking is ****e

Played a ton of online today. Some small problems but nothing serious, except for one race i won and when the results shows i was 6th, 30 seconds slower than the winner. I was like WTF no way in hell, nobody can win me by such a difference if i make a clean race

Sometimes when you get into a server (depending on which region) a laggy player can really pull down the fluidity of the race a bit and screw up positioning throughout the race.  This is why you will show 1st or 2nd throughout the race and end up finishing 3rd or 4th in reality at the end once the official race leaderboard comes up.  These incidents are not common and I can go through 20 or 30 races before one of these people show up.  

This has happened to me as well and Dragunov when we tried he couldn't even join my room after a while and I truly do not know the cause of that.  But...there is a setting in options (online) for FASTEST connection or BEST connection.  Of course the best connection may take you to the UK or Japan to play against those players, but it will be a solid connection without any lag to pull you down or screw with your payche during the race. 

btw -- I just entered the garage.  Anyone down for some fun, casual island rippin'?  I'll host.

i play motorstorm pr. i love it. I lay in first person only.
my favorite vehicle right now is the buggy.

i too notice when playing ranked there are some positioning problems. its wierd and it needs to be adressed.
i though i was first and in reality i was in 8 place. i thought i was so ggod that i was overlapping other players.
my confidence shot thru the roof ! But in the end the game said i came in 8st.

i think it's lagged, it happened to me several times. And I assume the final result IS your acutual position.

Congratulations on your Platinum again.  I want to play some races with you.  I recently picked up my Legend Gold and only need the Tortoise, Casual, and Pugilist trophies for my Plat.  Oh by the way I lost all of my Gold Medal data yesterday morning.  That's why I've been in a semi-mourning state for the last day or so.  After realizing that everything else is still there, I talked myself into not committing suicide (kidding)...so yeah let's get in some races dude.  I know, I'm a degenerate for this, but this is the best off-road racing game franchise ever created and it's just plain worth it.

i finally was able to make the jump to MS2 (i had a $25 gc from Best Buy and i had them price match target for $39, so i got MS2 for $14).  Awesome game; really fun, great visuals; it feels a bit harder than the first. 
 
On the trophy side, how the hell can you manage a barrel roll in this game?  It was pretty easy in Burnout, but man, i can't get the full roll in this game.  I just smash on my roof, or slam right into a tree.  Any advice on which vehicle and which track to perform this stunt?
