The point is they are similar game styles but one is more than press a to save Frank or press X to save Bill. That one will get a pass for some reason though. Even though I love playing both.

Wouldn't be the first time.

Heavy Rain: "We don't wan't to play a movie."

The Walking Dead: "This is the best game ever, more games should be like this."

another example

Journey is just a walking simulator

Dear esther and the graveyard  are this year's best indie games

HeavyRain was priced at $60.
WalkingDead was priced at $25.

The price does factor into people's opinions and expectations from a product.

Journey, DearEsther and Graveyard are more easy to compare, however I don't think it's physically possible for anyone to consider the latter two to be great games while not liking Journey. There aren't that many people that think DE and Graveyard are this year's best indie games anyways, while Journey has gathered many accolades.

Adventure games are basically point and click progressive stories.
Action Adventure uses elements from the Action genre, which requires careful hand-eye coordination and sharp reflexes, as similar with an action game you'd find in an arcade, only with story development including or not; player based choices.

Heavy Rain and The Walking Dead Video Game are Adventure games, with elements of real time strategy(i.e time dependent)

Lol i like the uncharted series but it's one of the most unoriginal series ever it got all of it's game mechanics and looks from other games or movies, platforming from prince of persia, gunplay similar to gears and it looks like indiana jones and tomb raider. I am pretty sure if any of those games and movie had not come out uncharted would have not been created, so stop trying to pretend uncharted is an original game it took everything it has from what came before.

This is something someone that never played it says. To say it's an interactive movies means you have little or nothing to do with the controller other than a few presses of the X button like a Dragon's Lair for example. If you think that's the case with Heavy Rain you couldn't be more wrong.

I can't count the times that I had to press almost every button on the controller in a ballerina like fashion  in order to lets say go by an electrified fence or avoid getting murdered by a crazy doctor.

This is very true, but how many games are original. Everything is a mish-mash of genres now, what Uncharted does right is put that stuff together in a fun way. Plenty of developers have tried using those formulas and failed miserably.

lol i find it funny that some people criticise uncharted for linearity and little to no interaction. yet from reading a hands on preview the *un uncharted killer* is no better in terms of gameplay in fact everything sounds scripted. so i wonder will tomb raider 2013 going to get the same treatment? or are people going to put their rose tinted glasses on ignore it?

Wouldn't be the first time.

Heavy Rain: "We don't wan't to play a movie."

The Walking Dead: "This is the best game ever, more games should be like this."

Well there difference there was Heavy Rain was terrible and Walking Dead was awesome.

Naughty Dog set out to deliver a cinematic experience, not just a game. They did it and have set a new standard that all TPS games will be aiming to achieve.

Haha it's funny hearing things like "TR copied Uncharted" because i'm pretty sure it was the other way around.

It's obvious you haven't play either franchise, only that shall explain such ignorant statement.

Have you ever examined TR:Legend's default control scheme?

Just to be clear, 95% of the comments in this thread are repeated in one form or another, people who post should at least bother to read the previous comments.

Wouldn't Machinarium be considered an adventure game? Not heavy rain or walking dead.

Didn't you know? Uncharted was the first game with set pieces. I thought everyone knew that.
