Alright just checking out to see who went ahead and tickered around with the new promo channel Nintendo has set up.  I spent last night checking it out and it seems pretty cool.  I like how they set it up as a youtubeish service in regards to streaming videos.  I think that's brilliant really and it doesn't take to long for the video to load and they actually have a good amount of game vids to if you do searches.

They have videos from the VC and yes even Wii and DS stuff .  I like how they even have release dates posted.  I hope they start filling that channel up with links for more vids ^^  Perhaps a little attention for good gameplay vids (check out Super Metroids vid )

The one thing I'm upset about is after watching the video of Professor Layton I wondered why the heck I haven't seen that on TV!  That's one sweet promo only Wii owners will see which is cool for us but not for people who may really like the game but only have a DS and a TV... what can you do though.

Ya that's a good point, ppl who only own a DS will likely never get to see the awesome DS videoes that are on the Nintendo Channel.  I think now Nintendo should really advertise the Wii's ability to be used as a DS demo download station in this respect because I can see that feature alone selling some Wiis to DS-owners out there.

Yeah and vice versa.  DS owners getting Wii's for the demos and Wii owners getting DS after seeing some of the promos and for getting some free demos as well

Ah that's why my Wii is flashing blue...I thought it was feeling neglected.

I'll have to check it out. It's been flashing Blue for a WHILE now...at least a couple of days.

Well I understand why it's hard to pull away from such a fun casual title but you have to spread that fun around and check out some cool game videos

Ya I might but I am currently trying to get the "Key to the City" Achievement for 100% completion on GTA IV. At about 30 hours now and 85%. Need to kill all the pigeons, then I will check out the Nintendo channel.

I noticed the other night when I was playing Mario Party with some friends that my Wii Shop Channel needed to be updated too, but this was before it turned on the Blue indication. Is it just part of this update? Or am I way out of date?

Plus I am always weary of updating without checking that my "Extra" chip hasn't been exposed...

The Nintendo Channel update was released yesterday morning for me so if has been blinking blue for a while, you may have missed the latest firmware update (which I think was released in March).  The Wii Shop Channel update AFAIK doesn't do anything tangible, but it probably has something to do w/ upcoming WiiWare releases.

Oh you modded your Wii?  Well if that's the case I myself would never do another update.  Nintendo really hates that kind of stuff so you never know.  Have you flown under all the bridges too?

LOL, What are they going to do ban me from online play? LMAO. Besides I don't really pirate a whole lot of games, and if I do like the game I will buy it honestly. (Unless I can't like Brawl! ). I have been playing the modified "Rock Band" Guitar Hero III with the Rock Band playlist. which is cool and the Wii Ware is already posted but I haven't done the research to see if it is compatible pre Wii Ware update.

Yeah there is a lot of cool Wii Ware games I think so that'll be fun once it is released.

No I don't think they would ban you from online play I think they would just brick your console

Ya Syko when you install the Nintendo Channel, I think you can just opt out when it asks if you'd like your Wii to send info to Nintendo.  The only thing you'll be missing by opting out is the ability to download demos to your DS I think, which, since you're too cool to own a DS, is no big deal

Eh....I have had a Wiikey in it since a few months after launch when the Wiikey's were brand new. If they knew how to brick them they would have done it by now and even if they do they will put it on a disc and I will be screwed unless I take it out. Which is honestly one of the only reasons I havent sold my Wii yet because it is a dodgy proposition to advertise what it is capable of anywhere.

Plus Dub is right I don't own a DS...(Altough I do own FF III for a DS, lol). I will have to check out all the game videos though. I have to admit I do love getting new Wii Channels but most of them suck pretty bad. One of those good idea poor execution type things. This one sounds much more promising than the Everybody votes channel though.

You dare mock the Everybody Votes Channel!

Well I like it     oh and seeing that you have a game for it and seeing that there are many others to get as well you should pick up a DS

I was actually all about it before the Wii released because I knew I wanted a Wii and Nintendo made it seem like it was going to have amazing interaction with the Wii. Well when I got my Wii I had my Brother-in-laws DS and was dissapointed with the total lack of interaction between the two. I probably will get one soon...Maybe I will get it for my Son on his birthday in Novemeber and just use it myself.

lol pulling a Homer on presents?  Nice     Yeah the interaction between the two right now is very lacking but with this step of Nintendo Channel they made up for that.  Now hopefully they start to make games that use them together and such.

Oh man, you just got to love the Nintendo Channel, but I couldnt find one thing, the section where they show the pie charts for the recommendation for the games.
