So currently I am watching the American series of the office and it is my opinion that Pam and Jim annoy me greatly and I would rather have more Michael and Dwight, I guess thought it is nice to see Michael and Dwight annoy Pam and Jim but still, Those two pretty much make the show for me. Although it amazes me how easily offended everyone in that office is, heck if I worked for Michael scott I would be so psyched to be going to things like the dundie awards and getting surprise Ice Cream sandwiches. I generally do feel bad for Michael, he tries so hard but usually he just sinks like the titanic every time.

After I finish watching the DVDs of the US version then I will be watching the UK Office. I am not going to watch the French or German office, because you know, The German Office would be pretty scary.

Hmm but Jim is funny while Dwights a nit wit.  Dwight is only funny because he's such a brown noser who gets no where and sets up a joke so nicely.  Michael I get embarrassed for   Seriously sometimes I need to pause the show and walk away during his times of awkwardness. Fun show but I couldn't get into the UK Office

The american version is so poor lol it doesn't really get shown here in the UK.

The 'real' Office is probably my favourite sitcom.

The advert for the US office in the UK is "It's like your office, but funnier". After watching the US office, I can tell you that it is, in fact, not as funny (although the office isn't really that funny anyway).

Problem with converting UK comedies to US comedies, is that the result is that the American version is often 'simplified' humour, if you get what I mean.

I finally started watching the office yesterday on hulu, they only have season 4 so I had to start from there.  It's pretty damn funny, but I have a feeling it would be a lot more funny if I could relate to it.  I've never worked in an office enviroment.

im a big fan of the original The Office but i must say i was pleasantly surprised by the american version. Steve Carell does a great job of being a Desperate to be liked boss. he does a good job of portraying the fact that underneath his annoyingness hes an ok guy. Not quite as suibtle in his awkwardness as Gervais. Dwight is also funny but i think i relate to Gareth (the british version of Dwight incase anyone doesnt know) more cos ive know guys just like him. the only problem with the american version is that theyll milk it and milk it and etc... way past the point where it stops being funny (just look at the simpsons these days!!). anyway i hope they dont do that cos i like it......but not as much as the original.
