No it's not Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo.

The truth is that if you look  closely at many of the top games of E3, it's fairly obvious that the winner of E3 is clearly user generated content. Games like Little Big Planet, Guitar Hero 4, Spore, animal crossing, and a few others are pushing the mark in terms of what they allow players to do in terms of expressing themselves through video games.

Some say that only a small group of people will use these features, but i'm not sure if thats accurate. I am sure many of us are interested in game development, and if we could make something that others would enjoy playing. These games are only the first steps in allowing average people to try and create something meaningful, to themselves and to others.

So in the end I ask all of you, how important is user generated content to you in gaming, will you spend time with these features, and do you think that these features could help drive more people into gaming development as a career?

I probably won't be making any level in LBP, but I have full support for user generated content.

I'm not a huge fan of user generated stuff - there is some good content created, but mostly the quality is very questionable.

I really hope this does not take off in a big way, for the odd game here & there, fine. But I believe it is the developers job to develop.

As i used to into my PC gaming im a big fan of user generated content. I dont do any myself but ive benefitted from user generated content on UT2004, C&C Generals, Total Annihilation and many others.

Its something that only came to console market recently and i hope it takes off. Halo3 started the ball rolling, lets hope it continues. I know UT3 (PS3 version only), halo3, Forza2 and N+ support user created content so far.

Anyone know of any other console releases that do?

I think the gaming media was the clear winner. They got their cheers and jeers out of the press conferences. In 2nd place was the gamer. No matter what console you have (nintendo aside) you're getting a lot of fun in the next few months. There's a lot coming out pre-holiday season.

Well, user generated content was indeed huge at E3 but the real REAL winner of E3 is GDC / Leipzig and TGS

Yeah, I agree, user generated content will begin to take the center stage and people will become more and more interested in trying it out, even if their first attempts aren't so great as I know mine weren't masterpieces either.

The winner of E3 is me, the loser of E3 is my wallet.

Well if you steal a credit card your wallet might get a win, but then your @ss is going to be the loser, in jail.
