Yes we spend a lot of our time hating on this game and poking our jabs about how KZ1 was crap even though most of us never played it including myself

Anyway this thread is dedicated to the things that killzone 2 does right as we have already established the things that look wrong

1. Blood: The way the enemies continue to bleed after being shot. Won't say they did it first but honestly i have never seen it in any other game and i think its very cool. Also the blood spurts from gun fire are the best I have seen in any game. The way it sticks to walls is also very impressive.

Death Animations & Hit Detection: The death animations are really cool. Seriously the last game that got me this impressed with hit detection was Golden eye on N64. When you shoot the enemies abdomen they grab the abdomen as they go down. Everything is done so real.

Those are what impress me the most about KZ2 even more than the graphics

The graphics I guess. Gameplay looks mediocre at best.

Same.

At least according to recent previews. As without any hands-on time myself, that's all I've got to go on.

Graphics, animation and intensity. Very fluid and decent gameplay.
Helghast and level design.

I don't know about previews. According to 1UP it seems to be well oiled and very balanced.

I also think people expect Killzone2 to re-invent the wheel. That's ridiculous.

Visuals of course is what keeps this game in my must buy list....   So far so good.

The visuals are nothing but stunning, gameplay looks good, animations are great and the atmosphere (lighting, debris, smoke, sound, war feeling) is simply next gen. <----- meaning: awesome  :)

I don't get when people talks about gameplay looks average or mediocre.  As long as you have diversity, destructable enviroemnts, different weapons, vehicles and a decent story to back it, then it will have good gameplay.    KZ2 is looking to have all those. Plus the action and game pace looks really good.

People were always screaming how good COD4 gameplay was....  It was the same old FPS gameplay to me.  What I really liked about it was the graphics, everything else was common gameplay and it was a very good game.

The game isn't oput yyet, so i like the graphics, and  i think the ingame cover system is innovative.  For tyhe record i played and enjoyed for the most part Killzone 1, it was just laggy and had buggs.

The visuals, animation and stuff happening on screen at once is unbelievable and all with a solid framerate from what we have seen.

Killzone 2 will be the best FPS this gen, have faith it will be outstanding

What is generic? At this point every shooter to hit the streets is generic. Resistance 2 is generic, Gears of War 2 is generic, Farcry 2 is generic, etc etc...the only none generic shooters are games like Stalker 2 and maybe L4D.

KZ 2 doesn't look generic to me, generic games lack identity, from the look of the vids that is something KZ 2 have in spade.

For me, it looked a far cry from intense. The enemies don't look like they're actually trying to kill you at all, and in all the demonstrations, the player can often just stand thereshooting right in the middle of the battlefield without any cover (like with the rocket launcher blowing up the bridge) ad the enemies don't bother with him. That might be my main gripe with the game; lack of intensity.

@ Fanboi: If the shooters you just listed are all generic, then why on earth does Lef 4 Dead stand out from the crowd?

Because it is the only coop shooter out there. Thats pretty bold.

As for KZ 2 the intensity is certainly there, you can feel it from the action around you, and of course in this type of demo the player doesn't get shot and die. That would be ridiculous. Would you say the Diablo 3 demo lack intensity because the player was able to plow through dozens of ghouls without a care in the world...and pickup up uber loot at will?

I like the intensity of the game and the graphics. I hope they keep some of the realism of the first one(I love the way they switch guns and cock each one before use). I would recommend that most of who haven't played the first one get it. Maybe it's my personal opinion but this was a great FPS. And I love that generic comment as if most shooters aren't. What determines whether one is generic or not?

I think that is because they are shooting other people on your team. What I like is that all the enemies arent always centred on your character but on your allies aswell. Makes it feel more realistic.
