I think it's honestly very justified to why that is.  Realize that they had the best graphics last gen, yet was in third place?  If it were my company, I would do the same as Nintendo...The casual is a huge untapped market when they first started.  I think the hardcore betrayed Nintendo before Nintendo betrayed the hardcore.

I do a little... I love my gamecube and it is the only system of last gen that I have still hooked up...

Why I say yes to this is not because of the new controller or anything but because they really did not put their necks out there as far as Hardware.... I know the controller was a big step but they did not put any money to really beef up the system graphically because they did not know how well it would sell...

Exactly my sentiments...it would be too much of a risk...now that it's payed off I bet they will make an HD version, but it's prolly going to be how the PS3 is now plus a bit more power...nothing too drastic anymore because realism can go till budgets get way too high for development where it becomes risky.

Im Hardcore and i play wii but its defiantly aimed at the younger audience.
I think there best idea was making it cheap, more people are poor than rich and if it doesn't cost that much lots more people can easily save up for it.

I agree for the most part the hardcore abandoned Nintendo long before the Wii came out.  3rd parties obviously abandoned Nintendo a long long time ago.  Nintendo thought about what they do best which is handhelds and they brought that same mentality to the home console.  Least that's how I see it.

But as far as them abandoning the hardcore that they are not.  They are focusing on the new crowd or that is old crowd they've always had with handhelds while making the games for the hardcore.  Big games take 3 years or so to make right?

Well they made sure the fans that stick with them get their Zeldas, Marios, and Metroids.  These guys act like they've been neglected, now they just troll out of spite, cause their team is not winning.

I would still like to see a controller with a touch screen in the middle... I think there could be a lot of things done with that over the motion control of the Wii Mote...

I find that people like to see themselves as a "hardcore gamer", because it sounds better than "gaming nerd"

hehe, they only have like one game that uses the ds as a controller.  I think it's Pokemon too.  I myself think that they should have touch only for handhelds, unless you can touch the screen of the tv...but they need more accurate movement for the next Nintendo system.

Lol, seen it.  I loved cooking mama though, it's one of those games you don't want people to know you play.  Reminds me when I used to play harvest moon.
