I  tried to post an article on Play.com offering an unofficial GTA4/360 bundle from 2 different gaming news web sites about a month ago. Both got reported in 5-10 minutes by 20+ people. I now look at the website and this news about ps3 bundle being sold out at play.com. Not to mention other articles like Gta4 driving Ps3 sales.

I even got messages telling me why it not "news" how ironic. I wonder where all those reporters are now and why they have not reported this among other articles about bestbuy, amazon, play etc etc etc etc etc  when it favours the PS3.

It seems when it paints the ps3 in a good light these articles are news worthy but otherwise the reporters come in.

TIME TO START NAMING NAMES! So that people can see who these pathetic individuals are!!!

These are the people that are either trying to maintain "N4G RULES" LMAO or CENSORING THE NEWS . you decide i already have and only person there that i think was trying to do the right thing is MEUS. Buubar and decapitator(i know hes been here a while) are definately some of the abusers as ive seen them report other articles that are 360 favourable then approve the same type of articles for the ps3(ie ps3 gta4 bundle sold out at play.com)

This kind of abuse needs to stop as you will lose credibilty and real gamers that actually want to come on here and read the news good or bad. Im definately at the point of just not bothering to look at N4g due to its constant slant on News approval. I should just go ahead and make my own site if this is what the great N4G'S has become. Sort it out or end up going the way of Gamespot is my advice. I with alot of others used to bother reading their articles/reviews and we all know what happened there.

Its not an Official Bundle, its a special offer from Play. Official Bundles are available in ALL stores, this is just a "bundle" exclusive to PLAY.

So what do you want us (the moderators) to do about it?

The only way you're contributing to fixing the problem is by complaining about it... how about offering some suggestions.

I believe this contributor wants the users who reported his story to be punished in some way or another.

Exactly what bloody sinner says. If members are abusing the reporting/approval rights then they should have them stripped for a period of time.

Im suprised some of you moderators have not thought up an idea of how to deal with this.  If this is not part of your job then what exactly do you guys actually do  to upkeep this site????

Except delete my post of the names that reoprted the two story due to "gamers" reporting it as spam. Im gonna give you guys the benefit of the doubt but in all honesty im begining to believe what some others who have left said. that the real problme is that the moderators are crooked hence why this site is overun with PS3 fans and 360 fans have gone else where.

Im a gamer and wANT to read informative news GOOD or BAD for all the consoles.  That should not be to much to ask from a  site whos name imply  it offers "NEWS FOR GAMERS"

So I looked into your complaint a bit Glad to be gamer and I can see why things went down as they did.
Even though you are a trainee you should be able to see why linking to play.com's buy now page would get hit with lots of spam reports.
The second attempt however was an actual article hosted by a legitimate source and IMO maybe should have been approved.

But here's what we can do...
Nothing.

This complaint is about a submission from 23 days ago...

Just out of interest, is there a stickied thread with such a list, as that's extremely handy as I had no clue really who the moderators were.

at the time you had reported it there was no official notice from sony that there would be an official bundle.

it was just a rumour/package from play.com, which is actually spam/advertising IMO.

now if we had turned down the official press release from sony that would be different.

same thing would apply if you were reporting on a 360 bundle from specific store. I don't see that as news. When the company officially annouces the bundle everywhere, that I consider news, or if there were other sources (ie other stores all showing the same bundle). otherwise it's just adverstising for that store.

I stand by my report, sorry.

Could someone see to it that this user gets a reality check?
Has been abusing the report system with false unsubstantiated reports.
