Status: online 		Most people would prefer to meet their end because of old age warm in their bed. Unfortunately that isn't always the way things have worked. So I present to you this thread of torture and horrible ways to die.



The Guillotine

The guillotine was a device used for carrying out executions by decapitation. It consists of a tall upright frame from which a heavy blade is suspended. This blade is raised with a rope and then allowed to drop, severing the victim's head from his or her body. 







The Head Crusher

If ever an explanation was in a name, the head crusher is it. Death by head crusher usually went something like this: the teeth imploded into their sockets and smashed the surrounding jaw bones. Then the eyes squirted from their sockets and finally, brain matter squirted from the ears. Unbelievably, many nations still use a version of the head crusher to this very day as an interrogation tool.





The Cradle

The Cradle was a very painful torture. The victim was placed on a long seat which at the apex contained a sharp blade. A heavy weight was attached underneath. He or she was slowly impaled.






The Heretic's Fork

One end of this device was pushed under the chin, the other into the sternum, with the strap securing this torture tool to the victim’s neck. Immobilized and in great pain, the victim will have to mouth off a confession, or they’ll end up being hanged or worse, burned at the stake.





The Pair

Hinging on your gender, the pear was either placed in your anus or your vagina in its thin form and then cranked to open up and blossom into a rather uncomfortable position.





The Breast Ripper

This one is self-explanatory. Many women condemned as heretics, adulterers, blasphemers had their breasts ripped out using this device.

Status: online 		I remember hearing some where that after an executioner chops the head of the criminal, he picks up the severed head
(because the person is still conscious for 8 or so  seconds)
so that the criminal can see the faces made by his family friends and on lookers
as he dies infront of them.......truly a horrible way to die....

Status: offline 		i once read in a book of the torturing in which they took the girl and put a kettle of rats on here stomach and secured it.... with her secured and laying they put hot coals on the cauldron which led the rats to  burrow through her stomach and out ripping her entrials out...

    Status: offline     		I think drowning is worse. Just the thought of trying to hold your breath and find escape but then involuntarily letting water into your lungs because you can't stand it anymore scares the bejeezus out of me. Unless I get some of that cool water from Abyss.

    actually they say drown isn't so bad, apparently you take about three gulps, 2 to fill up your lungs then one more to just make them stop. then with the oxygen cut off to your brain you just kinda peacefully fall asleep.

    Don't care, don't trust that. How would they be able to say this with any certainty anyway?

    Status: offline     		science/ biology probally. I'm sure they're aware of what happens to the brain when oxygen is cut off, and its evident thats what happens when you drown, oxygen is cut off.

    Not that I'm an authority on dying or anything, an Iron Maiden would be a fairly quick way to die (not pleasant, but quicker than the others) so maybe that's why Bloodask didn't feature it.

    And the last torture method can go f*ck itself, that's just awful.
