Of course I'm referring to screenshots, what else could I possibly be referring to. An article in OPM which I just got round to reading called "The truth about screenshots", investigates the extent to which they get 'touched up' before their release to the gaming masses. They use their own example in the pic bellow, where they have personally enhanced a screen of UT 3. Now I knew this kind of thing went on, but not to the extent this article suggests & I also didn't know they would manipulate camera angles or add extra effects that you could never actually achieve in-game, and yet they are still allowed to call these in-game screenshots. Even the recent Killzone 2 screens have had this treatment, as pic 3 shows, something I previously did not know. On the one hand there is the moral argument, that obviously what you are seeing isn't 'real' in-game stuff. On the other this honest doesn't sell, especially when everyone else in the business is doing it anyway. The article uses the analogy of glamour girls, who are 'touched up' all the time. Did everyone else know the extent of this or is it just me? Also did anyone else know Killzone were at it, as I didn't?
