SONY

PSN

KONAMI

Pick of the three? or all of the above

My solution is to just make MGO demo just use PSN server like they did for other online demo games

if you got a better solution lets hear it?

No doubt it's Konami but Sony shares the blame equally for letting them.

yeah I don't know who did but the best solution would probably have been to do a closed beta.  That would of solved a lot of the mess.

if i remember correctly, konami is using a bittorrent-esque system where those who have it downloaded will upload it to people who don't have it.

not sure how well this work, as i don't have my ps3 with me.

it would have to be konami, since the psn servers have shown they can take a lot of beating at once.

Ugh... for the billionth time, it's not truly anyone's fault. for the most part you could say it's Konami with it's short sightedness on the scope of how much attention MGO had. Either way, it's a beta and things like this happen with betas. That's why we have betas.

I'd rather have the problem with a free product than a $60 product. Would COD4 have been popular or well received if it had server problems like this?

I think they were overwhelmed with the amount of users they were going to receive. Free Beta for Europe you think that alone will cause a problem but the whole world at once I am surprise the Konami building is not on fire.

This didn't need a new thread

All that has to be said is Konami is stupid, making the beta free in Europe was a terrible idea as any US persons/other regions may create a UK/EU account simply to download it.

i agree tempist..... thats the thing, its beta, its for working out the problems, better now than later.....

however, i think its all konami for the error.... look at warhawk, its all online and theres no problems... nobody needed an incognito id for that so maybe konami should learn something from that

Japan sucks when it comes to online games. Sony, for letting them do whatever the hell they wanted to and Konami for just sucking altogether.

In all honesty I would rather them have a closed beta .... that way when the game comes out it is new to everyone...

Like a lot of people I was on the COD4 Beta and it was fun but I would rather have waited... I think...

It is a lot like opening presents before Christmas...

But the gamer inside is compelled to try to get in....

Well, I understand what you say, but if you don't want to get spoiled by the game you could just avoid it. MGO has nothing to do with the offline aspect of the MGS series so that's why I'm joining in, pissed that it didin't work out as it was supposed to...

IMO its konami's fault but sony should have seen this coming and should have stopped them. The konami id thing is not going to work most likely. Sony should have seen this and advised them accordingly. Making the beta free in JP/EU was completely stupid. They planned very poorly for this beta. It was as if they came up with it the same day it was announced. Once the site crashed we all knew it was a bad sign. Hopefully sony can feel inspired to have a nice chat with them to restructure their online network plans

You guys really should've seen this coming. Japanese dev + online = epic fail. They either lack the experience or the world wide reach that western developers have.

some people say open structuer/system is graet and some people say not. sony should restrict developers, don't let them do freely.

mm....interesting

I saw it coming but capcom tackled online pretty well in lost planet. Also this isn't konami's first online game on next gen. They had PES2008 which had crappy online but i assumed they would have learnt a lot since then
