What old school arcade games would you like to see updated to HD? - Thursday, October 29, 2009 2:02 PM
For some, they may not really remember the good old days of arcades. Rows and rows of hits like street fighter 2, time crisis, daytona, and even older classics like pac man and defender.

While some have gotten remakes in one form or another, this is a real simple question. What games from your past would you like to see given an HD makeover?

I personally was a serious sega fan. Games like golden axe, after burner, space harrier were some of the funnest games for me to play. I recall a rumor that after burner climax was supposed to come out for the ps3 but nothing as of yet. A new update to the racing game Daytona is rumored to be in development for the arcade hardware Ringedge (or is it ringwide??).

I would love to see a new Galaxy Force as well as Thunderblade. Space Harrier had a somewhat update in the form of Planet Harrier but it was never released for consoles (although rumored to have been finished for the Dreamcast).

What other games would you like to see?

Classic Starfox in HD.
Donkey Kong 64 in HD.

Uhh, I can't think of any others, I was a huge Nintendo fanboy back in the day.

I thought I was the only one who really enjoyed those classics. Glad to see I am not alone. I know there has been updates the ghosts and goblins and final fight but the updates kind of sucked.

A new forgotten worlds...definitely!

What about a new UN squadron/carrier airwing or Magic sword? 2D scrolling with 3D elements. A new Willow remake could be sweet.

I know this is a sort of Arcade since it came on on PSone...but

I want to see N2O remade. It was a space flight arcade shooter like tempest(atari)...where you had different ships and custom ones...you flew down tunnels and fought different bugs. each level's boss was epic huge and then would become the enemies for the next level after. you collected coins, but could shoot them to increase their value. best of all, all the music is done by the crystal method, and there is tons of psychodelic colors going on to. this game is meant to be remade HD, 7.1 Audio, and trophy support added. that is my pick. its my favorite arcade game, so I'd love to see it redone.

I know this isn't an arcade game, but the game i would want to see in HD over every other game in FFX, that game is amazing, and it's a shame that the console's lack of future Proofing have left brilliant games like that in the past

Aww man, I love this one definitely a classic.

yeah I'd like to see some of the arcade shooters from SEGA and NAMCO, like time crisis and house of the dead, they were sweet. my absolute favourite would have to be 'The Lost World Jurassic Park' one, I lost count how much money I spent on that machine.

also classic street fighter 2, alien vs predator and a couple of others I can't remember the name of now.

Starfox and Donkey Kong 64 aren't arcade games. They were SNES and N64 console games.

This is what an arcade cabinet looks like.
